I don’t think we should lock this, this will become a place of rule discussion as Fredvon4 mentionedgetback wrote:Hey Luke , good to hear you have stepped up for this event , asked Amend to lock this thread will help .

What are your thoughts on that?
Hi Luke! Thank you so much for your time! I know how precious it is. I brought this up because I thought it might attract entrants who might not have much space for a circle-circuit.. but want to enter a rod for the contest. Well............... I'm not sure how small "too small" is.. Safety is obviously a concern. Theoretically; any diameter can be lap-timed. There should be a "tether" though; meaning a flexible cable as opposed to a rigid-link.
Re: Prop Rod 2022 (a CEF contest idea)
Alright I’ll do some research and see how small it can practically get
I’ll write rules later this week or sometime next week, still very busy with ground school.

Has the possibility of axle driven cars come up? It would definitely open up the door for more entries.

Re: Prop Rod 2022 (a CEF contest idea)
May I suggest the diameter should be determined by the builder for best effect on the model? Make the race over "a distance," and do the math for number of laps for a declared diameter to run the distance. That would be Distance divided by Circumference equals number of laps required (D/(Pi x DIA)), if I have my math right.
Re: driven wheels...sounds like another contest! Respectfully, this one is Prop-Rod. But look out! Davidll1984 builds wheel-driven vehicles. My money is on him for that contest.

That would eliminate my Cox Corvette, but open the door for my Cox driven tri-motor tether plane???????? I see no reason why there should not be an axle driven category.

I have a jerobee, it could probably compete in the axle competition somehow, but I think this one should stick to prop powered

Well guys, I now unfortunately can’t set aside the time and effort to participate in this contest, let alone be the contest director. I’m sorry, but too many other, more important things are sucking up my time this year. I’m going to have to back down and let someone else take my place this time.

Re: Prop Rod 2022 (a CEF contest idea)
It's too bad Luke you can't be the the contest director Me too it would be too confusing and It would take me too long to translate them all I hope the contest will take place despite everything and That someone could take the place I watched silently See that all take places I had thought of a model to build I think it would be better to stay with a type of vehicle Simple that all can make one easily or just use oem cox powered cars I too thought about what would be possible But I hadn't thought of using a jerobee for that. A model with a Tee Dee without radio control attached to a wire would be unfair to others I think whatsoever maybe not that much with a class with axles I already have my car
I would like to build one with propellers for the contest
