Rebuilding a Cox .049 GTP Nissan Build log
So I failed to mention in my introduction that I bought two used kits off of eBay 1.5 years ago. One is completely seized. Not sure if it was left outside in the elements or just a really humid area. The other the guy was building a longer chassis of sorts with it and it wasn’t what I wanted but I took it to see what I could do with it. I’ll be trying to make one complete RC car out of these two. This is where I’m at so far. I had this kit when I was 15. That was 30 years ago. So be on the hunt for some quicker stronger servos than the airtronics that came with it.

We love rebuild/adaptation projects here...cars toy and real 100% scale, boats, planes, engines, guns, shop projects, snowmobiles, usually for CEF members the glue is the ubiquitous Cox engines that were sold for a long time and millions are in the wild and thousands are waiting to be bought new.
I know I speak for many here, please show more photos of each car and what problems you are trying to solve. Like the seized cox engine...we have experts here who have taken a engine that looked like it was bottom of some lake for a decade and rebuilt it to a running engine with history.

It’ll be slow going. I have a lot on my plate right now and also had carpal tunnel surgery.

Thank you Fred. I’ll do my best at allowing my wrist to heal.

Best thing I ever did (medically) was to seek out one of the top hand surgeons I could find to get my Carpel Tunnel surgery. I had the left one done one Christmas and the right done the following. Key-hole surgery is the way to go. One stitch per incision (2 per wrist). Apart from massaging the palm of my hand for a few weeks, no therapy required. Back to normal work load in under four weeks. Very effective while being non-invasive. Highly recommended if you can afford it. I had no insurance so just paid for it outright. Ended up being worth every cent. Got me back to working full time (self employed) weeks ahead of what it would take if I had full incision surgery.
I hope the recovery is quick for you.
