I wonder how it would fly with a bigger engine, say, a Tee Dee 09 on 45'-47' lines?

Yes good idea, just bump a firewall further back for the .09 - would pull lines well.

1/2A Streaker
Not wanting to wear out my welcome but this afternoon it was beautiful here in Oklahaoma City, 58 degrees with little to nothing winds. i took the 1/2A Streaker out to the field (grass) to fly. I installed ultra lite 2 inch wheels because of our grass strip. The TD .049 started instantly and ran perfect when I let the plane go it kind of went where it wanted but I was able to get off before our fence (barbed wire). I forgot how much fun the cox powered plane could be. It was really fast but able to do rolls, emelmans and about anything I wanted to try. Since it has no throttle and a 6 minute tank (1 ounce) the time went pretty fast. Since it is just a fun to fly plane I think I will install a micro servo and add a rudder to maybe help on my takeoff ground control. I hadn't flown a 1/2A plane for over 46 years. If you don't get out there and fly you are really missing the time of your life and so economical.

1/2A Streaker
Jim it is interesting your mentioning u-control. Several have ask me about flying it u-control. I'm an old u-control flyer and to be honest I think the plane would fly great u-control. There is plenty of room inside for installing bellcrank for the elevator and the two connectors could be brought out the fuselage side above the wing. It you or someone went that way I would build it with a straight wing (no dihedral) and have the cable guide on top of the left wing tip. I feel it would make a fantastic aerobatic u-control plane. There is a modeler in NY that is planning on doing just what you mentioned only with a .049/.051 it flys so well and fast with the .049 I wouldn't want a bigger engine. Incidentally, when I was flying it this afternoon just for fun I thought I would see what it would do straight up. It went at least 100-200 feet before I stopped climbing. My plane weighs in at 21 ounces. Not bad for a TeeDee .049.944_Jim wrote:I wonder how it would fly with a bigger engine, say, a Tee Dee 09 on 45'-47' lines?

If willing, have someone record it flying with a cell phone.
Post on YouTube and link here for folks to see what it can do.

Hello Dick, you may recall I messaged you through ebay wanting to know if you can shrink the size of the box to reduce international shipping cost. You kindly answered how I should order, but ebay still quoted $97.7 for shipping so I have resisted the temptation to order, and the auction is over.
I am flying a similar RC plane called Quickie100 which is amazingly fast even with a red postage stamp backplate 049 COX reedie, and would love to fly - or at least see fly- your Streaker with a TeeDee in its nose.

Andras
I don't have your address for some reason...send it to me asap and I can play what if with
https://ship.pirateship.com/
I also need box dimensions and weight...but these need not be exact
if discounted costs are reasonable to you
I would be happy to play middle man....of course that means a shipping to me cost from whom ever sells you the craft

Hello Fred. The box is 24 inches long, 6 inches wide and 6 inches tall. I just shipped one to the UK and the shipping charge was $26.25. Another went to italy and it was $28.25. I received a email from the modeler in the UK and he received his in seven days and he said it arrived in perfect condition. i shipped them by USPS International first class.balogh wrote:Thanks a lot, Fred, it is very kind of you. Re: 1/2A Streaker - New Production Kits!
Dick, thanks, ebay quotes shipping to my location in Hungary at 85+USD, i.e. to a destination in EU like Italy, and I cannot order it on ebay unless I accept the ebay cost number..is there a way you ship it to me at the rate similar to Italy or UK?

Dick can you post a picture showing the engine compartment of the Streaker? Do the exhaust ports of the 049 TeeDee reach out beyond the cowling? I guess a good fuel proofing of the cowling is needed if you fly the TeeDee without an exhaust muffler.

Thank you, Fred! Is this your own Streaker?
When I build it I will add a few layers of polyurethane spray paint to proof the cowling, for sure..
