Unless it's listed on our website; then it is your duty to buy as much as possible

Re: Great news!
Hmmmm suppose its funny, mugs like me have been stupid enough to invest money into an engine that I loved as a child and still is a great engine. Buying parts for these engines is a f....n hassle from overseas and isnt bloody cheap. Some turn up, some dont, some take 5 or six months. The new website is no different to the old website other than it lists how many parts are in stock. Or how many parts the vendor is nominating as being in stock. This type of behavior in a share listed company would definitely be investigated as manipulating the market. There are plenty of parts that are no longer available both on Cox International and exmodelengines. Try buying tee dee parts, many of them no longer exist. Surestart Cylinders no longer exist, different cranks are almost gone, last night only 8 pistons for an 049 were left but today there are 20 on Cox int web site. Reeds are hard to get, no stainless ones, check how many glow plugs exist, they are down on numbers. I have no problem with people squeezing the lemon as far as they can, but I see nothing in this website other than as a means of squeezing the lemon.
Wish I had never become involved in cox engines again and stayed with the likes of OS 2.5cc engines which are great cheap reliable sport and fun combat sport type engines easily available without all the bullshit of Cox engines.
Dont do it unless you want to collect old engines and look at them in a glass case. If you want to fly them and use them regularly into the future the vendors have stopped supplying critical parts and both look to be going out of business as they have as many parts out of stock as in stock. If you want to just fly a CL plane with your mates on the weekend, go somewhere else, dont go down the cox path. I deeply regret the couple of thousand I have wasted on them. Collectors only!!! you have been warned..
Cheers,
Gary

Re: Great news!
That's a pretty serious way to respond to an April Fools joke Gary. You sound pretty ticked-off. I'm in Aus as well and I've bought plenty of Cox stuff from the USA. Extra cost is what you have to expect when all the stock is overseas from you. Just keep an eye on the exchange rate and buy when it's high. I've got no complaints and I'm generally tight. I buy stuff to use, not to look at.
Parts aren't going to last forever and Bernie and Matt are doing their best to supply a very niche market. They are not just running down existing stock but are having a lot of repro stuff done. Worldwide Cox users are probably very low in number, so I can see why they don't want to overcapitalise.
Anyway, cheer up. I hope you were just having us on, but if not, I hope you get over it.
Rod.

Re: Great news!
I don’t think playing with Cox engines is any different from playing with any other vintage stuff, be it other model engines, full size vehicles, turntables, anything.
Try finding a new piston and sleeve for an ’80s OS Max 10... Cox has been an easy way to get into vintage engines, as there has been the huge surplus of parts to use (remember the manufacturing ended about 25 years ago!!), and also folks like Bernie and Matt who have treated us with repro parts such as gaskets, glowheads, crankshafts, tanks etc.
With vintage stuff you will always have to accept the fact that you are playing with stuff that is no longer made in a large industrial scale. That’s what makes it vintage, right? It’s more about nostalgia or being interested in a niche thing than ”getting from A to B in an effective and reliable manner”.
If one just wants to fly his/her models, there are easier ways to do it than using engines that require hard-to-get fuel and spare parts. I agree Cox engines are becoming more and more collector and enthusiast items, fortunately some collectors and enthusiasts still fly them too

Sure and we shall add your request to our "wanted" list and shall advise when we have them in stock.

The world is becoming a sad place if you can no longer make a joke just in case someone takes offence
