Cox Engine of The Month
Great news!

Great news!
This morning we were approached by the former owners of Cox with an incredible offer. Provided that we do the pick up ourselves (or an agent), they would for the token sum of $1, let us have the complete contents of their warehouse. The list includes:
All the moulds for the airplanes
All the moulds for the cars
All the machinery to make engines, parts and accessories
Piles and piles of engines, parts and accessories
All the drawings
Lots of other goodies
It seems they have been paying for warehouse storage for a very long time; with no hopes of ever getting back into the market and the cost to scrap this all would be tremendous.
Problem is that we could probably not come up with enough storage in our little town and we are wondering if someone has any suggestions.

Geeze Holy Cow! WoW. I’d be in on the $1 donation to obtain ownership. As far as moving and storage, I’m at a blank. How much space would be required and/or could you keep it where it’s at and pay storage?
Would it include the “Cox-0-matic” for engine mfg? Oooooo!

They want it out of there and they are getting into a new business and need the space. They said aprx. 20,000 square feet.

Bernie the piles of engines and parts are from the pre-Estes era?

It's a mix apparently but lots of prototypes I was told.
There even are over 500 OEM boxed airplanes and cars, as well as some boats, ski-doos and prototype "flying bunny"

Pre engineered steel fab metal bldg. and a concrete slab would be needed if you plan to "make the space"
Can start a go fund me account and have folks get 15% discount card special code per card for life.

I think that we are going to go with an inflatable warehouse because that is less expensive and easy to transport when deflated. The upward and sideward thrusters will keep the warehouse from collapsing. Fully insulated and up 40 below zero.
Re: Great news!
Has everyone had their coffee and read the newspaper today? It's well after lunch. I once read Cox was developing some trolling motors, that never got to see the light of day. I'd bee in for a couple if they turn up.

Weird that even exists. By now you would have figured that stuff would have been scattered to the winds.
Unless you have property that can contain a 100x200ft building then I have no idea. You may have to draw up a risk assessment plan to see if it’s even financially feasible.
Sounds like stressful news to me!

Yeah but right now we are totally overwhelmed with such good news as, we had always assumed that there was nothing left out there. The Cox find of the century for sure...

Is that an American holiday or what? Never heard of this here in Canada.

I feel your Pain! I was offered The Trump Hotel in Hawaii for free but had to have the building demolished to make room for an amusement park in Waikiki.

I used to sell the Air heaters to inflate those kinds of buildings. Takes a LOT of hot air!

I grew up in Canada. They have April fools there too. Unless the govt banned that as well.

That must have cost plenty of Easter eggs

Yes and we will probably need 4 Magnum Supreme thrusters

I will check on the Government of Canada's website: https://www.canada.ca/en.html but may take me a while, as it's lots of reading

Re: Great news!
I fell on my face..I already started thinking of what oldstock stuff I will buy from that find...my takeaway: one must be happy with what he has already and should not dream of hoarding more..
