Invitation to critique

If feels very familiar. The menu selection is different. So getting to a item, then going HOME then back to the selection is kind of klunky.  After selecting a item to put in cart, I couldn’t go back to the previous products I was shopping for without going Home then selecting the products to get back where I was. I think you need to ADD a “continue shopping “ button rather than or in addition to the “other customers bought these” selections, and have that button return you to where you were rather thst back to the beginningc

I just noticed the sidebar menu extends under pictures.



I do like the older site better, but that could be just because I was used to the old site.

I like the new site! I would add a background or something to the pages though, something that’s not just plain white on the whole page

I agree, that's what it's missing.

On my phone, the new site does look better than the old site.

I like the site where you have the quantity left in-stock.

Still in business and plan to stay that way. Just had to shut the store for four hours to synchronize the data base and "test-drive" the new platform.

See what you mean and will bring it to the developer's attention next week.

The problem with the old platform (X Cart 4.xx) is that, as of the end of 2019, was no longer supported with "patches" etc and our site was subsequently breached; whereas someone used our virtual payment terminal to run over 100 credit cards (test to see if they are valid).

Already planned. With X Cart 4.xx there were 100's of customizable templates available. With X Cart 5.xx only about a dozen, none really easy to customize; so we started with white.

The trick now is to put everything into "low stock" and have buyers race to scoop it all up before it's sold out

Where do you see this?

We only seem to have one listing; although we do often list items in two different categories, as long as the item applies to that category as well. i.e. All the fuel tanks are listed under Fuel Tanks but are also appended in 049/back end

Bernie I was registered on your previous platform and left a bunch if items to buy in the shopping cart, now my registration, purchase history, address, paypal connection to you, my last and unpaid shopping cart etc are nowhere to be found on the new site...do I miss here something and the above are there and I just do not find them?? I miss your old site and honestly do not understand why you changed that...Andras

It is all there Andras (31 orders), and I can see 6 items in your "wishlist". Please keep in mind that "username" is now your email address, a limitation of the new shopping cart software.

The reason we changed platforms is that xCart 4 was 12 years old and was no longer supported with "patches" since the end of 2019; meaning it was developing more and more vulnerabilities for cyber hacks. A month ago, someone hacked our merchant bank credentials and used them to test over 100 credit card numbers; after which our credit card processor shut us down for the day. That was the last straw and we thus upgraded to xCart 5 at a cost of over $5,000.

Thanks Bernie..I must be doing something wrong, because I cannot find where to sign in and the cart is empty..I am on my smartphone...the menu does not offer signing in..

When I first looked this up on my mobile phone, I was also stumped and contacted the developer for clarification.

When you go to www.coxengines.com, click on the three lines at the top right; that will open up some navigation links. Then, on the top right again, click on the silhouette of a person; which will bring you to the sign-in link.

At my age, when using a smartphone, I have developed a strategy. If the phone and I don't get along, I enlist the help of some random 12-year-old off the street. Works every time
