Friend happydad, this is for you.
Friend happydad, this is for you.
"Do the best you can, with what you have, right where you are."
Once I read that message and how right you are, then, it is only about taking advantage of the resources available, often discarded, without realizing that we are losing something valuable.
Your question by private message, I answer it here, well, I do not know how to send you photos privately, sorry if you do not agree, but perhaps someone else will use this thread.
Fuel tanks, I make them myself, with containers of products such as glues, eye drops, ear drops, etc. etc. etc. . Each of these has a different shape and therefore it is a different opportunity for each case, if you have a fine fuselage model, you can use one type of them, if it is wide, you can use another type of shape and thus, each container It then becomes a future fuel tank. Here I leave you photos, you pay once and get an extra gift, a fuel tank !! ... then how not to take advantage of it !!
I also make my fuel fishermen, with a drill previously and now with a UNIMAT 4 lathe, a gift from my great friend Mario Pereyra ... well ... I hope the photos are useful to you and if you want any details, just let me know here.
Again, I take this opportunity to congratulate you and your daughter for being in the army.
Strong hug for you friend.

Mauricio, my friend, you have come thru again. You have inspired me AGAIN. I use eye drops and contact lens cleaners and the small containers could be used. You are a genius. I guess we here are spoiled. Ordering anything, anytime, anywhere and getting it overnight. I will report tomorrow. thanks again.
p.s. you add phots the same way in a PM as you do in a post. Old Friend.

Re: Friend happydad, this is for you.
Happydad friend, thank you very much for your words!
Here is a very different country, just as not many items are available, a high cost is paid and it may take a long time until they arrive ..... if they arrive?! ... but, beyond that, sometimes commercially, there is no deposit or article that meets our true needs and that is why inventiveness and creativity are often good tools.
Hours ago I finished my own extension for my PITTS model and thus move the propeller, achieving a better thrust, that extension for example does not exist, so the head must think of a solution, that's all ... or most of the time .

You pushed my brain a little to think, and I remembered I use eye drops in several sizes. One of them is 1/2ounces, and fits great. So my next question is how do you seal the container? Do you use 2 or 3 pieces of tubing into the bottle? Fuel in, fuel out, and full indicator? And do you use a clunk? I have a block of brass I can use to make a small wedge and drill a hole for fuel. You get the picture?
Many thanks for kicking me in the head to get me started again.
Happierdad hope I got the flag right. You removed your country.

Re: Friend happydad, this is for you.
You are WONDERFUL people.
What a beautiful gesture friends !! ... how I would like to give you a hug and thank you all for how good you feel here.
You are an important part to me, and I really mean it.
Within the profile that one can present here in the forum, there is a point that is: LOCATION .... I have not found a better answer for a long time, than to make it clear, what exactly is my LOCATION.
I love you and hug you in the heart!

I didn't know you could buy the kit
Brad: thanks for the info. I have the 1 ounce Sullivan tank, but I didn't know you could buy the stopper kit separately. BTW I use eyedrops because of extreme dry eyes and I have a 1/2ounce size. DUH. Guess I won't be throwing the empties away anymore.

Re: Friend happydad, this is for you.
If you can't find the right size bottle ebay has these sizes on sale.
Good sizes for small engines .010 / .020 / .049 / G-Mark .03 / .061
You can use rubber bungs press fitted and held in place with heat
shrink from engine vibrations. Bungs come in many sizes starting at
000 and up, typically used with test tubes. Also found on ebay.
You can reshape brass fittings for use as small clunks.

I used to buy them on eBay, but when I searched for 1/2 ounce tank or 15cc tank nothing came up. So what did you search for? It has been several years since I bought and sold 1 of the tiny ones I lost my seller info.
Thanks for the info +1. Happydad

Wow Great stuff here. I’m looking to get/make a small 2-3 oz fuel tank for a couple of project cars . . . all I need to get now is the Sullivan fuel cap kit.

Gotcha covered. I even have a tank from Sullivan about that size. Question is why so large. Are you going to run-fly for 30minutes.
5cc lasts for 2minutes so 2ounces equal 60cc divide by 5cc per 2 minutes = 12 x 2 = 24 minutes for 2ounces tank. Don’t get dizzy. LOL.
Let me help you. Have parts will travel.
