Re: Cox Lodela .049 Car Engine
I'm not certain what Lodela toys are. I just threw out over 10 of these units. Somehow they just keep showing up in my storage bins. This is the same units used on t the dragsters. I owned literally dozens of the Stinger dragsters. The problem is the wheels, I'm always in need of the wheels and they're always deformed or cracked. The drive axles are hex and the wheels are mirror to fit onto the axle. The wheels split on the segments of the hex. The greenish colored plastic though is some tough stuff. I'm not certain if it's reinforced nylon but it's amazingly strong.

Wow Ken, I feel less alone now after buying 17 Cox Mercedes tether cars.
Still, it's a strange one for me. Different from my Pinto Funny Cars setup that Jason helped me get back together with fuel tank and front suspension pieces.
Wonder what that amount is in USD Levent ...……

Re: Cox Lodela .049 Car Engine
I could be wrong Bob on my identification of the exact part. My dad had younger brothers that were very into drag racing in the 70's. My dad would do most of the machining and engine work. My grandfather would just yell. Between my uncle's and their friends they would meet in a large parking lot. At times there were 30 or more Chevelle's and Gto's. My dad brought out the Cox Stinger one afternoon and all were hooked. These guys were buying them left and right. They would break or they would tire of them and give them to me. Sadly, I have two runners left. I know my uncle still has some on his shelf . When I moved out of our house, I left most of the bodies and chassis parts, at least 3 Baja Buggies, Dune Buggies and 2 Gurney Eagles.

It was manufacturing the Revell brand plastic models. In 1975 Lodela began to manufacture the Cox brand engine toys. From the mid 1980s it issued also Airfix and Heller SA models. Some model kits included Lodela original Mexican markings.
