Re: Happy New Year Friends!!
Chiming in with my New Years greeting also to all our CEF friends.
New Years eve 56 years ago, I spent with my wife at Portsmouth Naval Hospital where she had our son Mark at about five PM in the afternoon. Premature at about 3 pounds he spent the next 30 days in an incubator. Today he's strong, healthy, and just to darn good looking. Had brunch with him today at IHOP and driving home I thought how lucky I have been.

Re: Happy New Year Friends!!
Happy New Year to all my world-wide CEF friends. I wish you all safety and prosperity for 2020.
I also ask for those of you that see benefit in praying, please remember the many thousands of Aussies who are under extreme duress due to the massive and widespread threat of wildfires around this country. Whole towns are being wiped out, literally hundred upon hundreds of homes and businesses burnt, large livestock and wildlife losses, and sadly, quite a few deaths.
Plus we all live with the knowledge that we're a long way off reaching the hottest part of Summer and an even greater fire risk. We truly appreciate the many firefighters who have come in from the USA & Canada to assist. Those Erickson Skycranes are absolutely amazing.
Whether man is doing it or not, we can't deny that the weather is changing, but let's pray that God will give everyone the strength and wisdom to know what to do about looking after His world.
Rod.

Re: Happy New Year Friends!!
Rod ---I too have been following the news. Often wondering how close you are to this devastation. Wife and I pray, indirectly you and your neighbors are in our- now lengthy- prayer list
Last several years many communities around the world have been literally wiped off the map....fire, volcano, tsunami,, tornado, typhoon....etc
mother nature is a powerful witch.
Despite the devastation and massive loss of property-- the death toll is relatively small(er) than it could be....most of the saved lives are because we MAN created systems to prevent/warn about disaster, and save lives.....
I Don't recall if last or his year but spring flooding in our USA central flat lands caused the loss of over a million head of cattle and untold loss of wildlife
Point is many of us CEF and other humans follow the news on these events ...my frustration is having a thought during the news cast then due to damage not remembering to google fu the info the bobble headed prompter reader did not provide.....
seems to me...today's journalism grads did not get the WHO , WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY CLASS
HAPPY NEW YEAR OLDER ENGINE GUY......please forgive my un kind polotics of 2019

Ditto here. I've been watching and praying for rain for our friends beneath the Southern Cross. All the best my friend.
