Re: This engine collecting lark is getting out of hand!
Years ago at a swap meet in Wisconsin, some guy was selling wooden gift boxes for cheese/sausages. This was about the time I started collecting 1/2a's, the o'l light bulb went off and I built this wooden engine box...unfortunately, i quickly out grew it and now use these plastic cases that work great: http://www.planomolding.com/toolboxes/toolbox-products-2/ I still use the wooden box for my "Holy Grail" of engines!
Re: This engine collecting lark is getting out of hand!
I use Plano 3700 for the small engines and Plano 3730 for 049 up to the Olumpic 15. The larger engines fit in the front 3 compartments in the 3730.
I then store all the these in a large plastic tub with a cover. I can carry my entire collection anywhee if needed.

Rusty:
The first thing you must do to get past your small engine addition is to get through the denial stage.
"Aw, but just ONE more." is just clear evidence that you're not there yet. You might find help if we form a support group on CECF. We could pattern it after AA and hold theraphy sessions on-line.

Yes, repeat after me "I do not need another engine, I do not need another engine, I do not need another engine........!"
(Need no, WANT, yeah! yeah! yeah! (Mumbled while rubbing together hands wearing fingerless gloves))

OMG! That picture alone could cause me to "take the cure"!
I HAVE progressed in my recovery to the point that I WILL NOT buy any more "collector" NIB engines. A small step but a starting point in breaking my addition to small engines.
