The continuing saga of Rockin' Rusty - The rebuild continues
Okay, guys, all the big talk of comebacks never seems to end. I had a magnificently successful left hip replacement after the first clamp-and-screw job failed, and I had high hopes of making a real return to our sport.
Well, I came up lame yet again a couple of weeks ago, and my right hip is out now. I was packing fishing gear for next week's beach vacation with Holley and Me, and my son Al and his family. I went to the Doc today for a look-see, and the right hip is broken badly. No freakin' wonder I couldn't even walk with a walker. I'm here to tell ya, That Shtuff hurts! We're talking #10 out of 9 on the pain scale.
So emergency surgery is in order. I check in to the hospital tomorrow to spend a few days lowering my anti-coagulation factor(INR), and hopefully I'll get a whole new posthetic right hip Monday. But wait! This is a good thing, in that I will have two new hips. If I can survive another go in my weakened state(from 2 years of inactivity, and 34 years of Dialysis), then I stand a real chance... again... of GETTING MY SWAG BACK!.
Missing the beach sucks. What I looked most forward to is long conversations with Al about everything, diving deeply into plausible possibilities of the fabric of the Universe... what is it? what are we? it goes on and on. Chemistry and physics, particles and spacetime, outward bound and upward bound, off-Earth industry, does free will exist, things that are so far away they would seem like magic... No, I'm not on drugs right now, Lol. This is how we entertain each other. So maybe we can try again next summer, and I hope they catch a few fish and lots of blue crabs.
Only one problem. I probably won't mail Bandit the Travelling engine for a couple more weeks. I didn't want to be holding it up, and some way I'll get it done. Maybe I can get Holley or Al to mail it.
Y'all take care. Play nice, and I'll see you on the other side.

If you haven't read it already, take Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" with you and read it. It will either wake you up or put you to sleep - your option during your hospital adventure.
You know we are all pulling for you. Good luck.

I know you'll be better than you've been in years, Rusty.
Rehab will blow chickens, but you know that. After that,
look the f out. Looking forward to the new and improved
you, brother. Back, terrorizing the circle again.
