Yup, I'm home, as of 5:30 or so. Tired and sore, but all seems well. I'll post more tomorrow after some sleep.
Thanks for caring, I sure do appreciate it.
Rusty.

Boy, that's great news! It sounds like everything went the way it was supposed to. Holley will have her hands full for a while getting you back vertical again. You're a lucky guy having her as your backstop.
Welcome home brother!

Damn.. I'm a week late to reply here Rusty. I've just read this/your 1st post.. so please excuse me if I've missed any new developments over the past week. If there's any one CEF member who continually exemplifies positive spirit when faced with considerable adversity.. it's YOU. Your Son "Al" must be as amazing a man as you are.. by the way you speak of him. Why wouldn't he be?
Best of luck with this next op.. and we'll all be routin' for ya' man!

Re: The continuing saga of Rockin' Rusty - The rebuild continues
Well, here's a followup report. I may have mentioned I came home with a sore left arm??? I don't recall. Sore was a horrid understatement, turns out the damn thing was broken. A PT tech was evaluating me on my last day at the hospital, trying to test my ranges of motion and strength. I heard my arm go "Click-Click," and I was suddenly stricken with pain. I was quite [bleep] and sent her away, and that's the way I came home. I figured it would clear up, but it got worse with the bone ends shifting... inches from my dialysis access.
Back to the Doc. X-ray. Broken Humerus, just below the ball(much like a hip). A painful week later I was back in the hospital. The Doc bored a hole vertically down through the top of my shoulder, down and down through the humerus, where he inserted a threaded rod with glue. about 4 cross screws to secure it. And amazingly sent me back home bandaged and slung. Now, here I sit, typing with one hand and fighting exhaustion.
I promise all of you, my gracious and fine friends, there are no more broken bones in my body, and this story must end. I cannot tolerate one more chapter. But that's why I have been silent for yet another week. Thank you all for pulling for me.
Rockin' Rusty Out!... I'll Be Back.

Re: The continuing saga of Rockin' Rusty - The rebuild continues
You've got me worried Rusty. I'm still having weekly physio (physical) therapy for my elbow rebuild. Man that guy puts a lot of pressure on my arm and it hurts. Haven't been able to straighten my arm for a year and now he's trying to force it straight. "On a scale of 1-10, how's the pain?" Sick of hearing that. How do we know what 10 is? Anyway, after a particularly heavy session recently he says "by the look on your face we just got to 7." Almost sounds like he's aiming for the max.
I expect my bones may be a little more solid than yours Rusty, but I'll be fighting my therapist from now on trying to prevent that "Click-Click" you described, and the 10 out of 10 .

Rusty,
Bud, you really are a tough old Rusty Nail. They should call you Rusty Spike, because you remind me of a railroad fastner.
Ok Brother, I will do what I can to get up your way, money is tight in the Gov/Mil at the moment. I will do something to visit in the next year.
I also need to visit Fred! I have less of an excuse as he is within driving distance.
