Re: JUST CURIOUS
I know George H is still around. Have seen him posting in other sites.
I think Super Dave has left the building.
Ha! I remember in high school my GF’s Grandfather lived with her family. His highlight of the day was getting the daily paper and reading the daily obituaries to see if anyone he knew had passed. Always looking for a good funeral to attend...checking out the widows! Google and Facebook searches for of some my old elementary and JR high school flying buddies turned up zilch. Did find a memorial for one of my former Bosses, what a guy. Yeah, there’s lots of people I grew up with that are no longer with us. Just that much more reason to enjoy and be happy with the ones your with!

Just curious !
How about Big Al from Slidell ? He sent me some CNC maple Sure Start engine mounts that he made. I recall I sent him a copy of a TD.09RC instruction sheet and a .09 wrench or two expecting nothing in return. Those mounts were primo. I think he was getting close to 80.
Also there were some UK guys that we never hear from anymore ?

Re: JUST CURIOUS
Hey Phred, You've been on my mind brother. I can't answer your question.. but I can tell you that I miss the absent CEF folk from when I first became a member here. I don't belong to any other forums. This "is" my forum. I simply don't have time to surf-around. COX engines were a part of my childhood.. and continue to be a part of my adulthood. When members are "absent" here.. I wonder about them. I worry.. although I don't like to admit it.
Re: JUST CURIOUS
George is around, he has a lot of irons in the fire, Duke? No idea, he too is a busy guy. SuperDave? No idea, but rumor has it he passed, kind of a shame really.

Re: JUST CURIOUS
Every so often I wonder about some of the once very active posters who've gone silent. Folks like happydad, John Goddard, Ivanhoe, sdjjadk, mitchg95, JPvelo, gcb... I haven't heard from ian1954 in a few months. I hope everyone is doing alright.
Sadly I believe our Super Dave has passed on. While no one ever came on here to tell me, some digging one day lead me to an obituary... https://www.coxengineforum.com/t12448-super-dave#159523
I know interests change, and sometimes you have to take a break. Hell, I still haven't had a good chance to run a Cox engine yet this year. I have a Babe Bee mounted on a block of wood still waiting for its first run, I almost should just go ahead and do that tomorrow.

Hi getback, I have been looking in now and then but haven't posted much. Had a string of issues this year and no time for my hobbies, I think Ron called it "putting out fires" LOL.
Thanks for the shout. I would have liked to do the cars thing, have three in various stages of restoration just no time to tinker.

We sadly lost wha-tah-hey to cancer a couple years ago. He's at the flying circle in the sky.
Re: JUST CURIOUS
jsesere, a.k.a. Joe Cesere (possibly misspelled).
Like myself, he was a fellow long-time dialysis patient. We talked at length about that. He was pretty tough but never quite able to fully adapt. He started breaking hips and had been wheelchair bound for quite sometime, but found a very helpful escape in his Cox collecting hobby, and helping locate parts for us here at CEF. I don't recall how we found out he had died, but I think someone contacted and told one of us.

Yeah,
Joe was a good guy. He got a kick (as did I) out my running his single port Tee Dee .051 WAY back in 2011. It was a major compliment any time I'd stumble across photos he'd post of the engine on a test stand.
Glad to have crossed paths with him, and hope his family has handled his passing as well as possible.
