Eric Clutton aka. Dr. Diesel
Many of you know Eric Clutton aka. Dr. Diesel as a main agent for PAW (Progress Aero Works U.K.) model diesel engines in the U.S
Since I wasn't going to the annual Perry, GA model show this year, I called Eric to order some PAW parts and accessories.
I had a very nice long phone visit with him which was good since he has stopped attending model shows like Perry and Toledo a few years ago.
He explained that at 91 it is very hard to keep those schedules anymore. He said that he recently sold his full size homebuilt airplane and his antique 1946 Luscombe airplane, not because he couldn't fly them, but at age 91 he couldn't climb into them anymore !!!!
We talked about his youth in England during WWII and his time as a RAF Halifax Night Bomber tail gunner!!!!
I asked him about his parakeet, Willie, that always sat on his hat or shoulders during the shows. He said that a neighborhood cat got Willie and he is now in budgie heaven. He got a new young bird that will sit on his shoulders for an hour or so to watch television then fly to his cage so Eric can make him some popcorn !!!! I don't make this stuff up !!!!!
Anyway, I placed my order and wanted the rest of you know how Mr. Clutton is and to contact him on his DR. Diesel website.
FWIW, Steve....
