Looser than a brass' knicker elastic
I bought a nip cylinder and piston for an 010 and fitted to one of mine this afternoon.
Wish I hadn't bothered really cos it hasn't got much compression.
Is it just luck of the draw getting a good match?

Re: Looser than a brass' knicker elastic
From what I have read on this forum. The best fits are a result of mix and match. The problem with the .010 is that cylinder sets are hard to come by so mixing an matching would be difficult.
Try running it in and see if it ups the compression once broke in.
And where did you get a cylinder set???? I have only seen one on ebay and it went for half the cost of a new .010.

Try another head gasket and lap the head on some sheet glass with 400 grit wet/dry. You may be loosing some compression out the top.

Cheers Ron I'll give it a whirl at the weekend.
Just by chance a few weeks ago I wandered into a model shop I last went into in the late
70's. Aparently he had bought Ripmax's (UK Importer) remaining stock several
years ago but (Murphys law) someone had beaten me to all engines and juicy stuff
by 'a month or so Mate'. I got a few gems though including a Texaco back plate Hurrah!
