Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!
Nothing planned for this year, maybe family will show up, maybe not, we'll see. I didn't buy any fireworks, I still have a bunch of "illegal" stuff (which in my opinion shouldn't be illegal). I have a cake (firework) that I've had for several years that I've been warned by friends not to light as we don't have enough space and too many trees...I may just have to try it anyway LOL.
Stay safe!

Re: Happy Independence Day!
Thank You Jacob! I haven't seen those little red firecrackers in YEARS!! Be careful with that "cake" firework.. whatever that is.. I had a bad experience 30 years ago on the July 4th holiday while at my late ex-in-laws cottage in Ipswich, MA. Early one morning I was lighting-off "jumping-jacks" in the street (resembles a firecracker.. but spins on the ground) and one of them ricocheted off a pebble and flew into a field of tall-dry beach-grass. I immediately ran over when I heard the "crackling".. but it was too late. In a matter of seconds there was an inferno.
Luckily it was a small (1-acre) field between the street and the beach. Nothing was damaged thank God. When it was over.. it looked like a war-zone. It would be decades before I'd buy fireworks again..
We have a nice little assortment this year though..
Certain types are legal to sell/use here in Rhode Island.. but all fireworks are illegal in nearby/neighboring Massachusetts. If I wanted "aerial" fireworks (bottle/sky-rockets) firecrackers or "big-bang" fireworks.. I would have had to drive to New Hampshire.
They had the "jumping-jacks" where I bought ours.. but I'll probably never buy those again..

Re: Happy Independence Day!
Been a long week for me with all the more and more local pleas to NOT Celebrate the Independence of OUR GREAT NATION with fireworks
I am always dismayed that even a VETERAN would write or post about how terrible it is for critters and Soldiers with some form of PTSD to have to listen to some loud bangs and booms
For the record I have 4 dogs, and both wife and I are 24 year veterans with different PTSD issues
We are now into over 20 Years of the Medical, Mental health care, and VA Systems properly identifying this disorder and a LOT of FREE and GOOD therapy and support
TO ask my fellow citizens to NOT freely- and openly -and LOUDLY celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day, is an assault on WHY all soldiers and veterans SERVED their NATION....IMNSHO
In part the Oath we soldiers took:.......I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; .....
This means to me that I will have faith and allegiance to the constitution, and AS a fellow citizen, I can not nor would not deny any other citizen the freedoms or protection in that document
Every one of my neighbors is a veteran with pets.... At the end of my display they all scream and cheer!
They all KNOW for a fact MY FAMILY goes Nutz on the 4th....not so much on New Years
$199 is BS, I pay around $76 for this 70 foot long 16,000 cracker Black Kat string that fires constant for 23 minuets
Not pictured are the 5each, 300 count screeching Missile multi launch packs that do the grand finally at the end of this string

Happy Independance Day to all my friends south of the border, as well as those up north in AK as well! I am so jealous of teh firecrackers soem can posess and use in some states. Fred, Fred, Fred. I would just love to be able to see and light off one of those just once in my life! Anyways, cheers all.

Re: Happy Independence Day!
Wishing all my buds a Safe and Glorious Independence Day !!!
We had our fireworks in broad daylight, and I've now got just enough time to do a full body search for ticks before re-hydrating and relaxing in the front yard to watch my friends over at the subdivision take their turn at making noise.
HAPPY 4TH EVERYBODY !!!!!!!!
A Desert Eagle Halo to all my buds:
Just grin and Barrett!
Been doing crazy stuff with these guys for a while now:

Happy 4th everyone!
We had a great party spontaneously erupt at my house Monday night when my son and his family showed up with all the supplies for grillin', fireworks, and partying.
