I will start building one and take some pics for you of the assembly process. I just ordered the plans, but I should be able to scale the drawing from the magazine and build from that.

I would really appreciate it rainy! I have a Spektrum DX6 and fly many bigger nitro models... I guess ill give the build a go and if wait for NO WIND. Thanks again!

Should I buy 5 gram or 2.5 gram Servos? also do you have any idea what battery I should be looking for?

servos http://www.headsuphobby.com/Towerpro-14g-MG90D-Digital-Metal-Gear-Sub-Micro-Servo_p_1174.html
All the servos you mentioned are too small. Small servos with those small nylon gears are problematic and strip with 049 engines. When this plane was original designed it probably used standard size servos which were 35 gram +
You will have to ask one of the Spektrum guys on the battery I believe they usually use 6 volt receiver batteries. If I recall correctly some have had issues with the 4.8V batteries getting low and causing the receiver to reboot.

Oh yeah spektrum receivers require 6.3 volts... im talking how many mah
Re: HELP! Looking for a ARF R/C plane that uses a COX 049 or 020
750 mah is what I typically use. A little more or less won't hurt.

do those servos come with horns? and what linkages you going to use?
Re: HELP! Looking for a ARF R/C plane that uses a COX 049 or 020
Yes the servos come with horns and I usually use what I have laying around for control rods. Typically 1/16 rod or 2-56. Something like this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD855&P=SMhttp://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD855&P=SM 1/2a control horns. 1/2a aileron linkage. Check out Tower Hobbies and look at this page. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0091p?&P=SM&C=QFA&V=DUBhttp://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0091p?&P=SM&C=QFA&V=DUB. Dubro or Sullivan both make pushrods, control horns, and aileron linkages for 1/2A. It's not overly critical, you just don't want it to light so it flexes without a bunch of support.

Yes I am using 049. I am actually thinking about buying a couple of the Black Lynx engines from Ex-Models and using 1 oz. tanks and throttles.
