Sorry for being corny So, what is it? Why would there be a grove on the piston skirt?

Re: Everyone's Favorite GameShow... Name that Engine!
Loose like someone took a black widow case and tossed a TD .051 (the single groove on piston indicates this) cylinder and piston along with a product engine backplate.

It's what I call a 'junk box' engine. I have built a few of them myself.

Get a new PL or add a bvit of oil to it as some engines feel like they have a lack of compression when dry.
It there are thrust washers it most likely uses a cox international killer crank as some of them need thrust washers.

Looks kinda like that "Banana .049". Never seen that kind of NV spring.
Wish I had put a thrust washer on my Killer Bee, it badly needed it.

That needle valve looks to have been shortened.
Re: Everyone's Favorite GameShow... Name that Engine!
Relative newboy so forgive the if not stupid then silly question...
Shouldn't the cylinder have a 5 stamped on it if it's 051?

It's pretty low on the skirt though, wouldn't be helpful in flaring the piston for better compression.

Travis does it run?
I mean like mudhen said what do you want to do with it then choose what you need to do to get it there.

Mudhen wrote:Flaring the piston skirt won't improve compression. It will only increase drag and heat on the piston; lowering engine performance.
Won't it help a worn piston or cylinder though? That's what I gathered from a friend of mine.
