Testors questions
Yes, it's a Cox forum, we know
However, we received over 1,000 OEM Cox parts today and, in the mix, are some Testors needle valves and a pile of Testors 2-blade, 3-blade and 4-blade props. Is there a market for those?

Re: Testors questions
You bet!
There are a bunch of guys on here that are after Wen-Mac/Testors stuff. Selling here would be good, although your best chance at profit would be your ebay store. Just be sure to advertise here for max coverage.

Re: Testors questions
I PROPS?. Oh, did you say props?
We can never have enough props. ...pictures and prices please.
Oh, and I do like the needle valves with the longer flexible cable and knob on the end.
Any of those in your newly acquired inventory?

Re: Testors questions
No heads but some flex needles, glow clips, camouflage props, packages with "rods" about 5cm long (no idea what they are for) and some other bits and pieces. Will post the list with part #'s when I get to the office this morning and can also post the list of the Cox stuff.
I recall there being three 4-blade props (now reserved for Malibu) and like 50 each of different 3-blade and 2-blade versions. Also, three needles are reserved for Malibu
What is a fair price for Testors props? Needles? We have lots of experience with Cox props and needles but zero with Testors ones.

RE:Testors Questions
Gee Bernie,
I have no idea what fair prices would be since I've never tried to buy any before.
I would defer to your judgement...Maybe Cribbs or Mark B. could give opinions to help....

RE: Testors parts
Bernie .
Tried twice to PM you but it didn't work for the parts I want...
I used your website contact form but inadvertently sent Alabama instead of correct Georgia state info.
PM or email amount for PayPal payment....
Thanks, Steve.....

Steve, I believe we have PM disabled and we don't always check into the forum often but we did get your email, have responded and what state you chose is not relevant
Re: Testors questions
We will get some pictures at some point but, today, our focus is on listing the Cox parts.
Testors pictures
Here are a couple of pictures. The props have the part # and diameter written beside them (don't know the pitch) and the other parts are, from left to right, top to bottom row (would like to know what the "rods" are for):
Glow Clip - 400 101 Spray Bar - 185 25 Spinner - Rods
7823 Needle - 7820 Needle - 7821 Needle - Wrench
Glow Clip - 400 101 Spray Bar - 185 25 Spinner - Rods
7823 Needle - 7820 Needle - 7821 Needle - Wrench
Re: Testors questions
Bernie. I think the "rods" were counterbalance weights used in the RTF planes. Not sure how I know that, but I'm sure I've seen them before.
I'd like a couple of spare props for my P-40- that's the 4001. The 7821 needle looks like it's a one-off, but if it's still available I'd like it, along with a couple of 7823s. I'll contact you through your website. Feel free to PM me here.
Rod.

Eric, my Testors .049 "Pipe-Bomb" engine has a 6-32 threaded crankshaft.. so the Testors props that would fit it, have a larger-dia. (.161") hub-hole.
You'd need to "bush" the Testors props to fit a Cox's 5-40 propscrew.
The tubing-bushings shown are 5/32" (.156") and 3/16" (.187") which fit telescopically together. You'd want to use "both" and ream/drill-out the Testors prop-hub to 3/16" to achieve a snug fit.
Incidentally; any props that you modified in this way, could be run "without" the bushings, on other .049 engines such as the OK Cub; which has a 3/16" dia. boss on the drive-plate.
Conversely; a #20 drill (.161") would be used to enlarge a "Cox" .049 prop for running on a 6-32 threaded shaft/machine-screw.

Re: Testors questions
Eric,
Was sent to your "bellsouth" account but this is the text:
That should not be a problem Eric.
We posted the prop pictures and sizes on the forum and the two different 3-blades are 4" in diameter.
Since I am not at the office I can't check for Cox fit but can do so on Monday. We also received about a dozen OEM Cox 5x4 RH 3-blade props (2 different styles). Because we had to pay well to get them, retail pricing on teh Cox ones will be $6.95.
Cheers
Bernie

Re: Testors questions
Those pins (upper-right) look to be "split-pins".. which are usually used to achieve a press-fit for retention.
Below; the 2-blade (bottom-2nd from the right) looks to have a similar hub-design to the two props that came with my "Cox" Cosmic-Wind RTF.
The spinner clamps (snaps) onto the prop. Mine are "marked" 5 x 2 and 5 x 4 on the tab.. but have no Cox or Thimble-Drome markings on them. I'm wondering if my props were sourced from Testors by Cox.. when they acquired the Cosmic-Wind molds from Testors?
Were there any Testors spinners in that lot, designed to fit that two-blade prop Bernie? My spinner broke when my Rare-Bear's engine threw the prop when it backfired on a flight-attempt.
Spinner lined-up..
Spinner "snapped-on"..
The "tabs" look slightly different on mine.. but I'd be interested in a few of those props.. if you had the spinners to fit.. or replacement spinners that would fit "my" props.
