Display stands for Cox and other radial mount engines

I would dearly love to score a box of glass clear props (or pristine Tornadoes, or unused Top flite Nylons) and these acrylic stands to properly display my some what smallish collection of NEVER to be run Cox Jewels
I do have a smal collection of Wood TF 5 1/4 x 3 I could refinish for display with the .049s... but I really love the pure clear glass props

I do have several TF Nylon like you show. but I still actually use them (sorry Ken) after boiling and culling out the suspect ones

I received my stands some time ago and finally decided to put them to use.

All the ingredients necessary including a backing board so I don't drill a hole in the table.



1/4" and 3/8" brass screws work well. They thread themselves when a 1/16" bit is used



Found some of my old bagged as received .049's and mounted them only to be removed in the future and cleaned up. But at least they are no longer out of sight. Found my Jim Walker too.







I used a 4/40 machine screw to mount the tankless Walker. Crazy angle but it works.

Bravo!! Nice stands, I like it. My problem is I ran out of space for display a while age. The end of last year I unloaded a ton of stuff on eBay.
I'm at the point now if something comes in something must go to make room.

Or just reorganize. My morning effort at doing just that. Thought I would gain some space if I stacked things. Didn't!

Very nice!! I envy your space and origination, I live in a lower middle class home and only have a small spare room to put my goods.
Collecting,trading, buying, selling and tinkering with these engines and toys have been a welcome distraction for all of life's zingers lately.
I thought life would get simpler as I age but the opposite is true. Thank God for this little hobby.

Geez Bob.. If I were you.. I'd look into some wall-curios. Two to start.. sealed-well.. to mount in your new out-building. You could probably reduce the engine-count in the main cabinet.. by 15-20 or more.. depending on how you choose to categorize the engines. Is there room out there? You could rotate-stock every so-often.. to keep it interesting..?

The acrylic radial-mount stands are nice. It's nice when you can use small sheet-metal screws that self-tap. I came into several-dozen #2 x 3/8"L SMS's recently.. and knew that I could use them for 1/2A and sub-1/2A engine mounting.



I'm a fan of wood.. I'd like to make some wood-block engine-mount/displays. These threads always pique my interest. I don't have many engines.. but they're currently in zipper-bags in a box. Out of sight.. out of mind. Maybe having to "look" at them.. from day to day.. would lite a fire..
