Okey, I've sent in a possible contribution now, don't know if it will be good enough in terms of language...
It would be funny though with world wide coverage and contributions.

Thanks Krister and, no worries, as we will edit a bit if necessary
Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
A gentle reminder for those of you that pledged a contribution but have not yet done so, can we please get your submission as we would like to publish next week?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Thanks for the reminder. I've already written it, just have to dig it up from whatever safe place I stored it.

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Check your mailbox Bernie. I sent you an MSWord doc and some pics. THANKS!!!!!!
Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Bernie,
I found my article and I am tuning it up right now. It's about good sense safety protocols while control line flying.
I will have it to you by Monday evening, absolutely no later, no BS, it will be in your email ready for you when you open for business Tuesday morning. Will that be soon enough to make press time?
Rusty

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Sure, no worries Rusty as I will have to push the publication back a few days as I am by myself today and that may also be the case for more days this week. Once Theresa returns to work, I will have the time to do this. Right now I am filling her seat lol.
Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Bernie, you should have my article in your email now.
Thanks,
Rusty
P.S. Since I've been sending newsletters, I'm sometimes getting flagged as a spammer, so let me know if it's not there. I can use another account to send it.
Thanks,
Rusty

Got it, thanks so much Rusty
As we use our own domains, on our own mail server, there is no filtering for spam.

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
That's great, Bernie. My ability to email has been badly crippled since I've been doing our club newsletters, and now helping an AMA VP distribute information. I'm able to contact less and less people, even just casual messages between buddies get returned saying they contain spam. If you have any advice that may help me avoid this, maybe we could talk.Cox International wrote:...As we use our own domains, on our own mail server, there is no filtering for spam.

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Rusty,
We send out 5,000+ newsletters every few months with almost no issues but we also run our own mail servers and have reverse-DNS, etc set up properly to prevent blowback.
It could be that whole IP blocks of your ISP are on blacklists because spammers have used then often in the past. Try running a query on your IP using a service like this one:
https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/
But then, many people subscribe to asinine spam-filter tools that make mistakes. "Gmail" is the worst in knowing what's best for you

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
For instance, I just ran the X-originating IP 66.56.179.197 (the one your ISP assigned to your connection) and the result was:
66.56.179.197 is listed in the PBL, in the following records:
•PBL1587569
Which, by looking further, comes up with this:
Ref: PBL1587569
66.56.128.0/17 is listed on the Policy Block List (PBL)
Outbound Email Policy of Time Warner Cable/Road Runner for this IP range:
It is the policy of Time Warner Cable/Road Runner to share with other entities lists of our dynamic IP address space. While Time Warner Cable/Road Runner does not currently forbid customers from sending out mail directly from such space, it recognizes that others may wish to refuse mail from such space, and so Time Warner Cable/Road Runner makes that space known to others to facilitate their enforcement of their policies. Customers finding their mail refused by others due to a PBL listing should send their outbound mail through the outbound mail server designated for them; see http://help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_emailserveraddys.aspx for more information on the servers' names.
Basically, this would entail changing your outgoing mail server and you should be good to go.

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Thanks Bernie. I'll study up on that and make the necessary change. I'm becoming crippled the more I send.
This past month, I quit sending the usual 4Mb PDF and started sending only a shared Drobox link to the newsletter. It seemed to help with a couple of recipients and confused surprisingly few of the old guys.
But then an AMA VP wanted me to send a couple of contest flyers to my club list and it blew up again. My list is 225 or so, and I divide it into 3 mailings to meet Outlook 2007 and Roadrunner's requirements.
Yours is the best answer I've gotten so far,
Much appreciated.
Rusty

Re: We are looking for contributions to Cox Engines Quarterly :)
Rusty,
Just give me a call and I'll set you up on our company server (pro bono); where you will not experience these issues.
By the same token, we should take this off-site as we are both hijacking this thread
