Dago Red and Rare Bear

Dago Red and Rare Bear
Both re purposed modified for air racing WW II fighters each great in it's own right.
My son's R/C model of the DR Mustang
Full scale RB F8 Bearcat.
I just spent an interesting half hour on youtube watching the Reno air races where they both competed.
I believe that both Kim and roddie have modeled the Rare Bear in profile. An effort that is on my bucket list.
Some might remember that the DR survived the dual Mustang (1965 car variety) crash with only a busted tail section. I'm just charging the batteries here, still have to repair that tail section before we put her back in the air.
OS Max FS 70 sitting up front.

That looks like it will be a ton of fun. And, it is a proven survivor to boot. Good luck with it.

Beautiful airplane! I gathered many photos for when I built my Rare Bear. Quite a few were with the Dago Red.
Here's one of my favorite shots of my model.
Great to see that your fixing her up! That OS 4-stroke must sound sweet!

Here's Able Cat at Chino before the 1970 Reno Air Races. Love the look of Rare Bear when it was more Bearcat-like. It has a -26W engine from a Skyraider, with an uncut DC-7 Prop and spinner!
