Wanted 1968 Cox Camaro w/.020 engine

Post  prostreet Mon Apr 25, 2016 3:43 pm

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and was hopeful that the members could assist me in locating a 1968 Cox Camaro (yellow) with an .020 motor that is available for sale.  I prefer an already built car that is in nice shape as I really want it as a display piece and mate to the 1/24 scale 1968 GTO that I recently acquired.  Can anyone help with this search?   Thank you for any assistance offered.

Welcome to the forum!

Your best bet is going to be eBay, keep surfin' and one will show up, i think theres even a way to have eBay contact you if someone is listing a Camaro.

Here's one you missed:

Wanted Cox 1/24 Camaro

Post  prostreet Mon Apr 25, 2016 8:55 pm

Ebay was one of the sources that I've been using recently to try to locate one of these cars but I was always just a bit too late as the ones that have sold recently did so before I found out about them. Thanks very much for the reply and I will continue watching and looking. In the meantime, if anyone comes across one of these or has one they would like to find a new home for, please contact me. My daytime work # is 732 560 2830. Thank you.

Wanted Cox Camaro

Post  prostreet Mon May 09, 2016 2:52 pm

Hello,

I went to a car show in Carlisle, Pa. recently and talked to a vendor selling toys who knew of another vendor that had a boxed Camaro for sale and wanted $1000.00 which was not flexible. I later found out that the Camaro he spoke of did sell to a collector. That seems like a lot to me but since then, I've managed to secure an unbuilt Cox Camaro with the box and instructions for far less so please disregard my desire for one of these since I have found one. Thank you very much.

Wanted Cox Camaro

Post  prostreet Sun May 15, 2016 8:32 am

Hello,

The Cox Camaro I recently purchased is missing the cardboard tray that would sit in the box to which the chassis and body were secured with wire ties. I'm planning on reproducing this piece and have been able to see the shape of the holes and their location where the wire ties pass through that secure the pieces to the tray. What I haven't been able to see is whether or not there were slots cut into the cardboard tray for the rocker panel area of the body to drop into to prevent it from moving around. Can anyone show me a picture of the tray (if they have one) without the body and chassis in place so I have a clear photo to work from? Also, how high does the tray sit off the bottom of the box when installed? I'm going to leave this car in its unbuilt condition and display it with my other Cox cars. Thanks for any help offered.
