I found this page in the RC Library section of Outerzone. It's out of a 1967 RC Modeler magazine

Re: Cox medallion .15 powered RC Mustang
That was a good read. What an effort and success at coolness in 1967. A collaboration of people devoted to developing a 1/12th scale classic (to be..) for glow-engine-powered R/C racing!
Read the article in the OP if you like to know what makes things tick. The later JoMac/Jerobee model-development must have been inspired by this. Fast-forward to now.. with lightweight/reliable R/C, batteries, composite chassis/suspension materials.. Cox engine support.. and the time-tested clutch-design.. you could have a new breed of racers.. or should I say; "drifters". There would be the need of clutch parts/gears to be fabricated.. but the blue-print is already there for that. I'd love to build a Cox-powered R/C wheel-driven racecar!
