Cox Engine of The Month
Flying Sorcerer, last Saturday's flights

Flying Sorcerer, last Saturday's flights
On Saturday October 3, we had calm and sunny weather over here. After lunch, I had the idea of having a walk to digest so I took out my plane to the field across the road. I had several good flights with 2 landings at approx 20m from where I launched the plane. It was the first full test with the new landing gear and the cleaned engine. The plane turned in circles to the left while climbing and returned by turning to the right.
The last flight took an unexpected turn. During the climb, the plane went a little more towards the road than usual. The engine just stopped at a bad moment and when turning to the right, it flew towards the street and the big beech trees of my neighbor. It was difficult to estimate the height at such a distance. Suddenly it turned further to the right before reaching the trees and I hoped the plane would make a 180° turn to regain the field again. Unfortunately, one tree was in the way and it hit a branch at about ¾ of the total height of the tree, fell down vertically next to the road.
Only minor damage was found to the wing. I'll cut that out and make an insert for repair.
I made a little video of 2 flights of that day.
