On the verge of purchasing a "Lairds Super Solution" kit from Dumas. Can anyone vouch for the quality of thier kits?

Ron:
First rate, IMO. I have Dumas Chris-Craft EP speedboat and an EP Aerona C-3 and can speak higly for the quality of their kits. Customer service is excellent too.

Re: Dumas Kits
Put one of there Little swamp buggy's together years ago. Did a refinish on it awhile back. Nice kits, quality wood, good instructions. A pic of the now brushless buggy in the gallery.

Re: Dumas Kits
Is this the same Dumas that has been around forever?
If so back in the mid ‘70s I built several of their swamp buggies and don’t recall any probs. But their Mod Pod had some very ‘loose tolerance’ dye crunching. The wing ribs had a grossly oversize rectangular cutout for the spar. On assembly you had several (actually eight) choices as to where to glue the spar to the rib. Pick a corner or the middle of the top, bottom, right or left sides. Whatever, it was plenty strong, never had a wing failure with two different planes. But it wasn't a construction that you wanted to show off with transparent covering .
Bear in mind that was a long time ago, and I can’t speak to the quality of the current kits.

Dumas
Dumas has been around a long time. I live close by as they are in Tucson,Az. I went to a farmers market and across the street was Dumas. Never knew they were from here. I built a Hot Shot tunnel hull boat years ago and it went together nicely. All the planking fit just right and made for nice speed boat. Mostly now besides boats they have smaller rubber powered planes , lazer cut.

Well,
I just paid for one today, after my spit is done I will build it. Good things mentioned here about it. I will post the build log when I get it going.
