Wanted old Pee Wee parts
Wanted old Pee Wee parts
In a fit of near insanity I sold most of my Pee Wee stuff a while back to fund another project, now I want them back.
Looking for older parts like red tanks and prop drives, thin wall cylinders or even the whole engine. Looking for nice parts that are new or like new, no scratches.
Post a photo and name your price.

I notice that you are in florida.
You can come to the Graves RC swap meet on september 6th and I can show you the pee-wee powered motor glider they have hanging from the ceiling, which you can ask to buy.
I bet they have some more stuff around, too. Last time I was there I noticed a BNIB Cox QRC cessna with original radio included.
I remember the pee wee does have a red tank, but I don't know anything else about it.
You could also come to the swap meet, well, just to come to the swap meet.

Pee Wees were the first Cox engines I started with and I took those apart using the tool in the exhaust ports before I knew better. Both cylinders are damaged, either burred or twisted
but the pistons are good.
but the pistons are good.

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
That stinks.
I have some Pee Wee's at home that I am not using. I won't be home until Wed. I can probably sell or trade a couple to you.
Ron
Edit: I am pretty good at removing burrs. I would be happy to clean those up for you.

Yeah, orlando. I can guarantee this much cox:
1. some sort of motorglider with a pee wee .020
2. Another motorglider with what looks like a queen bee or maybe a norvel, i can't tell. (Its hanging from the ceiling)
3. A NIB Cox QRC Cessna with original transmitter, also NIB.
That's only what I saw last time I was in the store. I bet there are a couple more .049 planes hanging in the ceiling that I didn't notice, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had some more .049 stuff in the back warehouse.
Their website has a "cox engines" category, but its empty.
http://www.gravesrc.com/parts-accessories/engines/nitro-engines-by-manufacturer/cox-nitro-engines.html
Plus its a swap meet, So people will bring their own stuff to sell. There might be some cox goodies there too.

I have removed lots of burrs also. I have a boom microscope for this work. I use a sharp exacto knife and remove the burr a little at a time then test the fit.
I can try to fix these for you if needed.

Thanks for the generous offer Jason, PM me your address and I'll send em to you, if you can fix them you can keep them.

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
Seems like i remember the cranks were a little different from older to newer Pee Wees, is that so or am I off on a tangent.
Are all the parts interchangeable from old to new?

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
Newer cranks had larger splined end and the drive plate had a larger hole. IIRC this change happened late 70's to help prevent the cranks breaking on a crash.

cases, and the cranks are interchangable. I think you're right
though. I remember there was something written about the first ones
having a stouter/larger diameter crank(I think). Probably rare.
There, that helps.

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
I'd be interested in the two engines for parts engines and the extra red tank, are the red tanks unscratched?
For parts I want the two cylinders and the red tanks. How much you looking for? Thanks

as you can see in the first picture there are scratches where the #2 screws went thru the screw mounts. the second red tank has similar scratches at the screw mounts.
I have $25 in the 1st red tank engine and about $8 in the extra parts, not including the second engine. about $15 in the 2nd complete engine.
what 2 cylinders were you referring to? other than on the engines in the picture?

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
The Pee Wee box is looking up, got four new, one like new and one for parts. I want to give a shout-out to forum member floyd001, he replied to
this post and turns out we are neighbors. Last week he came by and brought the NIB engine in the upper left of the photo.
He also brought a NIB TD 10 and a box of parts and engines. The box had a car engine, product engine, Silver Bee? and an older TD 049.
I TD 049 was in bad shape but I like the older thin wall cylinder TDs so I wanted to restore it. I forgot to take a before pic but it was pretty bad,
I rubbed on the case for at least and hour to remove the scratches and the piston, cylinder cleaned up well.
I finished the TD yesterday, next in line is the Silver Bee. Thanks floyd001, made a new friend on the forum and also thanks to Jason who sent me a Pee Wee also.

Re: Wanted old Pee Wee parts
I think the coating is black oxide, not sure how it goes on. For the aluminum parts I found 2000 wet or dry and 0000 steel wool work ok.
I was going to try gun black to repair some cylinders but haven't got it yet.
