Post  Godsey3.0 Mon Nov 21, 2011 5:52 pm

Hello. I found this plane on the 1/2a pics #2 section on RC Groups and am really wanting to build it. The owner called it a Tree Hugger. He has not been on RC Groups for awhile so I probably will not find anything out from him. I would like to get plans. If anyone can direct me to a set of plans or draw some up for me that would be great. Also if anyone has any suggestions for a profile free flight plane that would be great. Thanks

Looks simple enough to "Scratch Build. Why are you afraid?

I have attempted building without plans and it turned out bad. Plus I do not know what would be a good wingspan for this size. Same for fuse and tail.

Screw it. I am gonna do it. I plan on being an Aerospace Engineer one day so if I can not do this then I am screwed. Hopefully with practice these will get easier.

I think that plane is called a Parasol??,,or something similar. Could be wrong on that, but for some unexplainable reason that name floats to to the top.

Parasol is the style.
Jacob if you want a profile plane then choose an RC or FF plane that you like and replicate it as best you can in a profile way!

I found the plans. It is actually called the Tree Hunter. Looking at the plans one can obviously tell that the guy has seriously modded the plane. I.e. The big hole in the side. The plans are hand drawn.

I drew my own fuse and tail and I kept the hole. I did not get a wing drawn though as I did not know a wingspan. I also do not have dimensions

a 35" span sounds about right then if you enlarge the plans to that you will get the according length.

The guy that built it said it was way tail heavy. He had to extend the nose. I intend on having it RC and putting the electronics in the front to help balance it.
