Cox 049 Crank Shaft and Case Types
Here are all of the different Cox 049 crank case and crank shaft designs I have collected, excluding the Tee Dee's and Medallion's.
As far as I know this covers them all except of course for the different anodized cases that were produced.
Top row from left:
First die cast case, die cast case with lip, late die cast case, extruded with grooved nose.
Seconde row from left:
Small tapered nose, large tapered nose, straight nose with small crank bore,
large straight nose with large crank bore, small straight nose with groove & large bore.
Third row from left:
First crank with integral prop stud, small main journal with thin web, small journal with thick web,
small journal with extension on rod journal for driving rear drum rotor, large main journal with thick
web and larger diameter splined end, large journal with tapered end instead of splined, small journal
with notched web and drilled out rod journal.
If you know of another variation please chime in.
Thinking now I should have taken some close up photos to better show some of the details.
