Helpful Hint,
Try to hold your control handle in as close to your body as possible. The difference in travel distance could be more than 100' over 10 laps!

Well, that 100 feet represents about 1/3 of a lap on those length lines.
Statistics to ponder (or make you say 'hmmmmmmm..........').
Flyers of smaller stature may have a distinct advantage in a timed race of this kind.
Take JP's video below. Such a tactic could have shaved over a second and a half off of his time.

You can take it to the extreme and use a post, like the actual speed contests do. This is a fun-fly though, and the way the rules read a center post is not discouraged, but also not encouraged.
