WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
Looking for a Tee Dee .15 glowhead and gasket. Also could use a carb body.

Re: WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
ExModelengines and Coxinternational are out of them
They show up on e-bay a lot but are fairly pricey...this one is not too bad as it is less than I paid last year
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Cox-Glow-Head-Med-015-Glo-Plug-Engine-Airplane-15-Part-1102-NOS-/400626475224?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d4732e0d8
The 1102 is for both 15s the TD and Medallion
The 1802 is the higher compression head for the TD and Conquest
I run the less expensive 1102 on the TD as I do not need the extra couple of hundred RPM

I want whichever one is correct for a first year tee dee .15. Which I would assume is the 1802?

Re: WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
I also wanted the original head and it took me two years to get them at about $18 plus shipping each
I killed one and the other is saved to sell with the engine if I decide to let both my 15s go
(I have a throttled Medallion and a first year TD 15)
They show up on e-bay every now and then. Most sellers do a search of past sale prices and start from there if buy it now, or just list as auction starting at $20 and let the highest bidder over pay
as I said or implied.... the less expensive and easy to find medallion 1102 will work if you are going to use the engine on a plane

Re: WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
Well I only paid $20 for it minus a glowhead so spending a bit on the head isn't an issue. But like you said, it's finding one that's the main problem. It may find a plane to fly one day, but for now it needs to look nice and original as most of my engines do.fredvon4 wrote:I also wanted the original head and it took me two years to get them at about $18 plus shipping each

If you are looking to run the engine then MECOA makes a 15 glow head adapter that uses standard 1/4-32 glow plugs. Not original but will get you running again.

Yeah I've seen that before too. I'm just a little picky on originality. I think I'd like to find the 1802 head if possible.

Re: WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
MECOA has the plastic carb bodies also.
https://mecoa.biz/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=36
You can also get an aluminum one on eBay.

Or you could repair the carb body:

Re: WTB: Tee Dee .15 Glowhead(FOUND!)
Hey!
That looks familiar. I don't think I have even run that Special .15 yet. I was wary of the .15's at one time.
Seems kind of funny now since I've been hand flipping .40's
As to the original post you do see them on Ebay from time to time. However, you can find them easier if you network.
Again I am going to recommend going to Stunthanger, Stuka Stunt, or BOTR classifieds. Just be sure you come back here!
A lot of the big time stunt guys have Cox Engines that they couldn't give two flips about. Pun not intended!
Lastly, if it were me I would do what Fred suggested and just run the Medallion head. Collecting is fun, but once you fly a plane powered by one of these things you forget all about collecting.

Found! Thanks to some "networking" I found this guy who happened to have some left over. He's got two more if you're quick!

Yeah I noticed he had just about every glow head they made besides some rare early ones, so I sent him a message and he said he had sold them earlier this month but may have some left and he'd get back to me. A day later, he had three left he forgot he had! So he let me know when the listing would be up and I made sure to get me one.

What a magnificent piece of machined parts.
.051 for scale.
Now just need to get a new carb body and thrust washer.
