Cox Engine of The Month
Have a good laugh

Have a good laugh
I'm in my local flying field yesterday evening, to test run my rebuilt cox engine. Club members always amazed with my cox engines, because most of our local members don't even know what Cox engine is.
I run couple of tanks and lean out for rpm test , and stop to cool down and before I start the engine again, a club member ask
" is this tiny engine easy to start ? "
I replied " yup, with couple drops of fuel in its exhaust port to prime it, it almost starts right way, just that my cox engine always turns reverse when I flip start it. "
He offered me a solution
" Well, I can see you're using two large D type battery for glow clip. You must be put it wrong polarity ! You need to put it on correct polarity to make it turn at correct direction ! "

Th guy could also have offered a solution of instead of dropping a few drops of fuel into the exhaust port, why don't you suck fuel from the cylinder instead?

Sure, but reversing the priming process would have the same zero impact on the rotation direction as the polarity change of the battery...maybe I cracked a dumb joke...

What a maroon! Yeah, obviously your electric starter is spinning backwards! It's as sad as it is funny.

Pretty stupid!! Everyone knows that it's all about whether you mix the oil or the nitro first.
