SIG shipping
Just got off of the phone with SIG, trying to order a $1.99 decal sheet. Shipping would be $15.00 and they refuse to budge. $15.00 to ship what is essentially a sheet of paper. Ridiculous. Obviously I will go the mask/paint route.

Re: SIG shipping
I have never understood why they charge so much to ship small orders. The shipping drops down if the order is over $50.

When I needed Li'l Satan decals I called and asked if they could please just put them in a letter envelope and send it regular mail. They did, and charged me $2.
... EDIT: or was that Brodak. I bet it was. Nevermind.

Re: SIG shipping
Someone else posted on here once about brodak being reasonable about shipping when you call them.RknRusty wrote:JPvelo wrote:Just got off of the phone with SIG, trying to order a $1.99 decal sheet. Re: SIG shipping
I'll chime in. $15 dollars shipping for a quart of fuel that costs less than $8

Well if we purposely dog pile on Sig, it might reduce our credibility.
That being said, I don't usually need more than one or two items, so I avoid Sig for most things other than fuel. Great prices on parts and supplies is of no value if the shipping is excessive. Brodak's shipping ain't cheap either, but they care enough about keeping customers to be reasonable about situations such as a decal that can be mailed in a letter envelope with a postage stamp. Now that Cox International is selling more 1/2A supplies it makes sense to shop there with good prices and less than $4 shipping.

Re: SIG shipping
It would be great if Cox International offered the complete Brodak line. It would help both parties in my opinion.
Heck the Fox factory hobby shop carries Brodak supplies.

Re: SIG shipping
Omni Models (http://stores.ebay.com.au/OmniModels/Store-Home.html) is another one. I wanted to buy 2 gaskets (about 1½" dia) and they also wanted $15.00 postage, and wouldn't budge. An ordinary letter would have cost $1.25 to Oz. Oh well. 2 good things came out of that. I found an alternative supplier and Omni permanently lost a customer.

Might the decal sheet be too large to send through regular mail and possibly be ruined if folded over?

Re: SIG shipping
Even if it won't fit in an envelope thre must be an alternative to the $15. method. Roll it and put it in a $5.98 "if it fits, it ships" box.gcb wrote:JPvelo wrote:Just got off of the phone with SIG, trying to order a $1.99 decal sheet.
