Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I am willing to post the prop over to Malaysia I have sent a few things to Australia and the USPS costs were rather reasonable...FedX and UPS are very high. I already went to the PO to see what it costs to get small light things to Tru168 and it was well under $20 so I will sponsor that trip over the water.... If you don't want the lag in mailing to me then get a PO cost and I will payPal you the money Jacob

I checked into the cost through UPS and US postal, both were in the $80-$100 range using the online calculator. I thought you said never mind, that was to much. Sorry if I miss understood. If Jacob finds a cheaper way to send it I'll share in the cost to send it to you. I think everyone should have a chance to have it.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
Duke,
Don't worry my friend, If it cost $80-100, then I will give up because of high shipping cost, ( you can buy good Cox engine with that price ;-) ). I understand that shipping cost varies depends on different location, but if Jacob or others members can send it under $20 at their location, then I'll be interested.
Thank you guys really try to send it and willing to pay for it, I'm really appreciate !

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I don't understand the reason, but having that prop was very cool to me. My boys and I had fun taking pictures and looking through all the stuff in the box. We should all write something for the next news letter, telling the traveling prop story.

Yes, I think most of you who received the prop has special feeling when the parcel arrive in front of your door step, kind of receiving long waited Christmas gift .

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
The prop came in the mail today! I'll post some pics of it in a little while.

We'll see. It would be nice for tru168 to get it but only as long as I can be ensured that it won't get lost in the mail. A few of my mother's Facebook friends from Malaysia are warning me as many things (especially from the US) seem to get lost or stolen.
Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
With more than two years in the process, visiting 28 members in 15 US states and 6 other countries, the prop has now returned back home. It still may not be done depending on what we are going to do for tru168. With this being the first "traveling" item we have done, I didn't know how it would go. I was worried it would get lost or damaged in the mail or maybe someone would get it and disappear from the forum. I was prepared with a replacement prop in the event the original prop gets damaged in a hard landing or even in the mail. A few members either disappeared or chose not to take part but I still have to say it went well. I'll eventually have it framed along with all its accessories and some way perhaps a CD of all the posts and pictures. Someday I'd like to know all the history of all the stickers, decals and items in the box. It was a lot of fun putting it together and watching everyone get it, I hope everyone had fun. We have the Traveling Engine out making its rounds and who knows what will be next!
Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
That box and signature card took me back. Matt and I had fun that day we flew it and got the video. That's my Lil Bat sticker with "BAT" scratched out and replaced with Satan. Jacob, you pioneered a way to keep us interested in more than just posting and reading, keeping our imaginations thinking. Now we have lots of activities to break the monotony and also to put real people behind our dull prose. What a forum!

Hooray for Us and Our Fearless Leader, Mr. Jacob !!! What fun, and what great guys !!!
My little skunk was shamelessly copped from Lockheed's mascot to represent the little wooden shed where so much strange stuff goes on !
Again, thanks to Jacob and the members who got hold of this historic little propeller and STILL turned it loose to the next member in line !!!
Best Wishes All ! Kim

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I think this was a amazing thing to do! I was able to show others the prop and tell some of the stories. My favorite picture is Mudhen's, I really liked all the items in the background, and the Bible. Was the Bible opened to a certain page or verse?
I added the picture of the "Wingmaster" orange and white plane, which I flew with batjac the "other Mark" for the first time. That was the day I meet Mark for the first time also, because of this forum by the way. My picture for the thread is of my CL club jacket.
Thanks to all who made it happen, great fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
My chronicle is 9 pages, 2,419 words and countless pic and vid links. That was quite an undertaking to treat each recipient fairly. It's off to Bernie, but I don't know if he can fit it into the regular Quarterly or not. But stand by, you'll get to read and watch it soon. He may have to create a PDF and just link to it. Whew!

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
Hey guys, I'm glad to be able to do it. I had been wishing there was more space for my traditional humorous embellishment, but in retrospect, this story was all about the members rather than me, and I included some good quotes from those that wrote their own little stories to accompany their TP exhibitions. It was fun to go back and relive the epic adventures of or little forum woody.
Thanks for the greenies.

Mysterious package
I´ve received an arrival notice from Chicago of someone called John, but I don´t wait nothing from USA now, maybe travelling prop or engine?
Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I don't know, Jose. The TP is retired now, and if it was the TE, you'd certainly know about it.
But it says "you can spend removed at the office and limit stated from the day following the date of notice"... whatever that means. Lol. Sorry. But be careful of gifts from Chicago. Let us know if you decide to find out what it is. Maybe it was meant for another Jose Calata.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
Wow José you've got a violin bass!! that's very nice. I remember when was studying in England in the mid 90's, there was a 2nd hand one for sale in the local music shop. I still regret I didn't buy that one.
