One of the neat things about Cox engines is how easily customizable they are. A few years ago I bought a NIB 2002 Killer Bee .049 (you know, the not cool one) and thought it was pretty dull so I turned it into this red engine (first pic). Well, today I was looking at it and thought, "why did I sacrifice a perfectly good new original engine to make a custom one?" So I undid it. I turned it back into the undesirable Killer Bee, because even the undesirable Killer Bee NIB is more collectable than a custom engine. So now I have both both of the "good" KB's, .049 and .051, and the 2002 .049.

As long as you like it then that's all that really matters. You have all of them so that in itself is pretty cool!

Looking at that picture, the crankcase looks kind of beat up. I thought that was the original case from that engine but maybe not. I have another case that's new so I'll swap them.

Take a look at the case that came with my Estes Killer Bee.

LOL I used to carry this thing around with me so there are marks and wear in the anodizing but I remember taking it out of the box to see these gashes in the case. This being one of my first Cox engines, I thought about taking it back to Hub Hobby LOL. The other side of the case doesn't seem to have any marks other than the usual marks.

The con-rod just clears the dent in the case
