An extra 3 inches makes all the difference........Apparently !
Allegedly it's not going to rain or blow a gale tomorrow.
Hurrah
Now that the Bacaruda's lost it's 010 and gained a PeeWee it's wing loading has gone through the roof
and when motor quits it glides like a refrigerator.
.
.
.
.
Now with extended PeeWee tank I thought I'd better do summat
So cyano, balsa and solarfilm poised last night = 1 rib and Heypresto 1.5 ins per side.
Watch this space.

Let us know the runtime. Assuming you keep it aloft the entire tank!

Well not only did it rain, it was f. F. Ff. fffff freezing too.
The Peewee didn't want to play so all I got was a 15 second
Flight, it did seen much nicer/briefly.
Will try again next week.
Poss nose heavy? If so not much I put small batt
In. COG v close to main spar.

Ok
Guys
It had to happen....
A PeeWee that runs not only properly but bloody well.
Holding 20K I've never seen more than 18.5 on a PeeWee before but boy what a difference
a bit of sealant and the fuel tube over the N/V makes.......

Quite a little ripper you have there John. About 3 mins on the extended tank?
Hey! I just realized. You RC guys fly in circles too. Just larger ones!

I took 4 planes out Ron this was by far and away the most fun today.
I'll put the first (pre trim) vid up soon all you can hear is me hitting trim tabs and going "aaaaarrrgggh" +"phew"
a lot. After that I was happy to just fly in circles a while.
It's a shame Glen didn't get the ground in shot much cos you'd get an idea how fast the little
so and so was moving.

No, you could tell it was moving......ground or no. When you would dive and that prop wound up it was like a streak across the camera lens. Impressive.

Great video, John,
but what exactly did you do with the engine? What type of sealant, where did you put it?

Hi P
Very simple really.
I used silicon type gasket assembly/sealant.
I removed the N/V and lightly applied the sealant to
The threads only, slipped the spring over and refitted
The N/V. I fuelled and fired it up then set at max plus
An eighth. I then slipped the fuel tube over the
N/V and spring then set it aside. I ran it up for a tank
A day later and only tweaked the needle a smidgeonette.
Yesterday I didn't need to touch the needle and as you can
Hear it's a happy engine.
With a little luck it'll continue.

When you say "sealant" you mean the bathtub stuff, or is it some special engine thing?

I'm fairly sure the bathroom stuff would work but perhaps it won't be fuel resistant?
If you go into any car accessory shop they'll have something like this,-
http://www.granvilleoil.com/product_info.php?prod_id=44
or
http://www.yachtshop.co.uk/store/product/320/Loctite-Instant-Gasket/?gclid=CJnAw8aCwLUCFaLHtAodqwsAMg

Re: An extra 3 inches makes all the difference........Apparently !
Hi J
I didn't get a chance to run her up this weekend. Working
But I did take a look see her internals in the light of the Extreme's piston going bang
the other week.
It all looks tickity boo in there so here's Johnnies Cox theorem.......
The older stuff (the Peewee is a 70's vintage) WAS better made than the later.
I've took a few of my hare brained idea's apart which are mostly new surestart type
piston versions and it seems they all need the ball/socket resetting.
I don't think the newer stuff has 'The Minerals' for sustained fast usage. I say
'sustained' but in one case we're talking only 5 3 minute runs.
I'm going to fire up my killa b'stard with a 70's teedee top end on it when I get a chance
and see if that takes 20+ speeds in it's stride or not.
I've been trawling through some of the old Reviews when high speed, high(er) nitro
is mentioned at the same time as shortened engine life but I've not seen mention of holed
pistons.
Perhaps some of the old time speed merchants can chip in with their experiences.

Not nice at all, I never really tried to get max out of a peewee, if I needed more I just went with TD020 or wrangled up a bw049 is its place......and then there`s the littlest stick that I put a TD051 on........
But anyway, so you want a peewee from the 1970`s is what you are driving at?.
