Pee Wee Tee Dee 020
Has anyone flown an RC version of the above?
Reason I ask is my Aerobic (FMK models) is finally making progress and I'm approaching the
'do I go as per plan' or Johnnyoverengineit (with a Norvel) crossroads.

Why not go as planned? You can always bolt on the Norvel if it doesn't throttle well enough.

Re: Pee Wee Tee Dee 020
Yeah will do Ron
I spent the Morning fine tuning my Pee Wee rc and now I've stuck a fair bit through her she seems to hold 15.5ish
fairly reliably and throttles OK.
I may have a go with a TeeDee tomorrow.

Second question under same heading..
Finally got a decent flight (1min 50) out of the Bacaruda
Peewee holding 15k on 20% and fairly zipping around the
Sky.
But, as ever more power would be nice. What sort of speed
Will my TD spin at if I swap that over?

Well once I sort the leaky tank and lean it out I think the 'new and improved' Bacaruda TD 020
will be fun.
will be fun.

Something's not jiving Johnny, you should have broke into the 20's. Maybe the leaking tank is sucking in air.

Re: Pee Wee Tee Dee 020
Mebbe the throttle ring obstructs the exhaust a bit on full throttle?
PeeWee was only turning 15 and that seems a bit anemic.

Mmmm yeah you could be right boys.
Although I was trawling through old reviews
And both the Td and PW utilised the 3.25x2.5
Prop to get the high numbers whereas I'm
Using the 4.5x2. Would that account for
The lack?

Do no Johnnie...... I run that prop on mine and it screams. I never tach the thing as I don't have one. Perhaps your right about the wee prop scenario.

TD tanks
Some of you may be familiar with the tanks on the Tee Dee 010/020 series, below is the transcript of a meeting
in a bar in Santa Ana in 1958 after 15 pints of Beer each......
Bill : Roy yuur my best mate you are, I reaally looourve you man get me another.
Leroy : Tanks fiiiirst ma man hic howww're we g g g gonna do this hic.
Bill : Isshhh defff defff dfinanly your round Roy, c c ccm commalong.
Leroy : Sod it letzz bung one screw in the back with such a coarsly threaded screw it'll be either too loose or
too tight with a silly p pa pp paper excuse I meeen gasket, they'll still be talking bout it in 50 years......
So that's the story of Cox's 'finest' moment.
For such a well engineered product the tanks are not great.
2 gaskets doesn't work, kitchen sealer/silicon sort of if you're lucky works if you leave it to cure over night
and then to bolt it to anything ie an aeroplane....
Any other ideas boys?

Woooo! That was funny, I haven't had the same problems John but, I agree not the best design. Perhaps you have a hairline crack? You could always go with an external tank.

Re: Pee Wee Tee Dee 020
The penultimate line should have read 'then don't
Bolt it to anything. Like a aeroplane.
I'm just being a grouch Ron but all the 010's i've had
And the 020 leak. I have got them to 'seal' but tightening the
Screw sufficiently seems to dish the back plate just enough to
Make it proud of the tank which when bolted to the firewall
Causes it to leak.
Another windy weekend so poss external tank and more garden
Shenanigans.

I say norvel it!
BigMig .061 turning a 6x2 a little extra engine never hurt a 3D plane did it?
Just position the radio gear far back.
