please help
hi, i have the parkzone radian. It fly's great to say the least but i have noticed that when i get up to altitude and cut the throttle to 0% i have to hold full up elevator to maintain my altitude or i go into a dive. Is this because my plane is nose heavy, other than this the plane is perfect, and would make a perfect trainer for anyone thinking of getting into the hobby. The only other flaw that i noticed is that after 2 flights today the prop and spinner came of the plane when i went to hit the throttle to go back to altitude, i fixed this my using medium thread lock on the threads that old the prop hub on
thanks MitchG95

Re: please help
I doubt it, planes usually dive when the engine is cut, use this glide to build up speed for a nice glide.mitchg95 wrote:hi, i have the parkzone radian. A Sig Kadet Senior has a nice glide. Have you checked the balance?

Re: please help
It's because you don't have it in trim. Play with it on the ground by tossing it like a chuck glider then you'll find out what the elevator should be like. Also check your CG first.
Here is the one I use to have, Jeremy has it now

its not a very steep dive, just enough to notice when the engine is cut

were can i find the cg on this model, i checked were i thought it would be, in the holes in the wing that allow you to view the carbon fiber wing tube joiner. I dont know if this is the correct place to check, but she flies fine right from the get go

thanks for that video Wingingit74, ill try to throw it like a chuck glider tomorrow, it seems fine though (elevator is at dead center of what it should be and has equal throw in both directions)

Re: please help
Hello,
It might be a little nose heavy, check the CG appx. 25% back of leading edge, probably where the spar is. It will take a little up to compensate for the loss of thrust when deadstick, but it shouldn't need full up unless its trimmed with down to maintain level flight when powered, then it very well could. With a flat bottom or under cambered wing its going to be a compromise between trimmed powered level flight and trimmed dead stick glide.

Re: please help
An incidence meter is a helpful tool to align flight surfaces prior to trim adjustments from the Tx.
I have a Great Planes Accu-point laser meter and always use it before flying new plane for the first time. Correctly aligned, my planes require very little trim adjstment.
