Cox Engine of The Month
Cox 049 I think

Cox 049 I think
Just bought a Testors Cosmic Wind plane. Someone has mounted what appears to be a Cox .049 engine in the engine bay. The case and backing plate appear to be stock Cox .049 but the cyclinder and head are bigger. Pulled the head off and the piston appears to be a stock .049 running in a sleeve. Anyone seen this before? MMT

Cox .049 I think
False alarm people, engine is a Cox .049. Bore is the same and the glow plugs swap with other Cox .049s. I guess size of the plane made the engine look bigger. Airplane is much bigger than the other plastic RTFs I have seen. Don't know why anyone would put that small of an engine in a plane this size. I think I will put the present engine in the .049 pile and find a larger Cox engine for this model. Any ideas on what I should look for?
