Re: The Three Stooges
I don't get it...most of my other videos have low view counts. This one is through the roof! Who's watching it, I wonder.
The only purchased stuff was the battery, grey electrical "plumbing" and the remote. The rest was scavenged from on-hand materials.
Whodathunk a wireless release stooge would be so popular!

Re: The Three Stooges
Since I usually find myself alone at the field during the Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon, I decided I need a new stooge. I figured that at my age, I might as well splurge, dang the expense. So I ponied up for this new, super-deluxe, budget-buster stooge.
Worked awesome.

Re: The Three Stooges
I forgot to mention my stooge has 2 settings when used in conjuction with cardboard and an old yoga mat (theses stock planes have small wheels).
Setting 1: for tail draggers on pavement (as shown)
Seeing 2. for tricycle or on grass when flipped over
This way the tail of the plane stays in its intended starting position reducing the possibility of ground prop strikes.

Re: The Three Stooges
That is circa 1995 COX 1995 Star Wars Episode I Naboo Fighter. I have it on 25 feet of 10lb Spider Wire with a stock COX handle. It flies like a COX Stuka.
To fly it the openings for the bell crank arms need to be widened so they have more clearance and won't jam. The tail needs to reinforced with a bamboo shish kabob skewer epoxied in place so the tail doesn't break off in a hard landing.
They can be found new in the box on Ebay for under $100.00.

Re: The Three Stooges
The aircraft is a Naboo Fighter from Cox's "Star Wars" series.
Looks like this was late in the Cox era.. maybes just pre-Estes?
Check these "non-IC engine" variants out..
Below photo NOT of Cox model; but an official (?) illustration of the Naboo N-1 air/space-craft. It just SCREAMS 1/2A C/L Profi-Speed.. IMHO

Me too roddie. Huge contrast to my vintage Biplane addiction.
I made a low-ball offer on the cheapest BIN boxed ebay offering which was accepted within seconds. Represented as "New" it looks like it has some trash inside the clear plastic bubble. Box will need some attention too. Gas, but they do come as electric. Right next door in Maryland. Less of a chance the shipper losing it.
I spent yesterday afternoon on the phone with UPS tracking down my misdelivered chainsaw. Someone, not me! somewhere has it.

Naboo Fighter will fly
The Naboo will fly with some modifications (see previous post)
The Droid needs to have the inboard front weight relocated to tip (double weight the tip) to fly.
The Snow Speeder needed a tip weight to fly.
The X wing canard elevator is poorly designed and will jam resulting in a crash. I haven't tried to modify one yet.
Re: The Three Stooges
Boy, this one went off the rails. I'm impressed!
I need to go fly.
I need to go fly.
