Re: Spee-Dee 010, a new build project
Thank you, Robert, yes, with a light toss slightly inclined upwards it launches without losing altitude. Thanks to the asymmetric wing profile and the 0.26 grams/sq.cm surface load, my initial concerns that it takes a hard toss and too much up elevator to launch it and keep it airborne proved baseless

Re: Spee-Dee 010, a new build project
Thank you Eric yes indeed, I was clueless how this amateur design will prove, but luckily it ended up well! Not that fast as Brad's 010 Nano speedplane, but just enough for a tiny sports plane.. I went back to that guy in France and bought more brand new 010-s ( old stock with taper bore cylinder and black anodized carb i.e. dating back to the 60-s) at a very light price, so I am well geared up for a flight packed spring and summer flying season to come!

Re: Spee-Dee 010, a new build project
Congrats on the test flights Andras!
Nominal 4.8v should be able to fly 4 times per field session with 15cc / ml.
Smart peak charger may coax up to 180mah on a low mah charge.

Re: Spee-Dee 010, a new build project
Thank you, Brad, may be my safety margin is too high...because I lost once a plane to the Rx battery running low mid-air. Will try how long the battery will actually last, testing it on the ground. I flew around 12cc fuel fills on the maiden, not sure how first the plan then the batteries would behave..
I just found 1/3 AAA size 170mAh batteries, they may bring onboard 10% more stamina than the current 150mAh

The plane flies like an arrow, required minimum trimming, only the servo speed had to be lowered to smoothen the elevator throws.
I was totally agitated and worried before the maiden flight, because this is a prototype plane that I built out of my mind and imagination. Now I am already thinking of building its brother slightly scaled up for my 020 TeeDee-s
Congratulations dear friend!!
I am very happy to know that it is a success!....so I also sign up and say: I want a video!!!

Thank you Mauricio
Weather is changing now for the worse, but next time I go to the field, I will shoot a video, I promise!

Very nicely built and thought out plane project! I for one would like to see it fly. Beautiful wing design.
