Sometimes opportunity just presents itself
Looking around ebay for a new project I made an offer on this:
and ebay always about selling suggested this on their popups something that I would not ordinarily look for.
I have the mesh version, but have been looking for the slotted version for some time. Price cheap enough with free shipping.

That’s an interesting one Bob. I like the shape and tricycle gear.

Pretty happy about this one. Low offer and they accepted it. Watched it for about three weeks with no bidders. I figured they were ripe for an offer. Free priority mail shipping. Seller has about 1,000 items for sale. Usually, you can negotiate with them, but people that sell exclusively model airplane items, forget it.

Re: Sometimes opportunity just presents itself
Thanks Rene for opening my eyes. That is a slotted screened .020. I thought it was a .049. Looking more closely at the picture it is smaller than the one next to it.
It's not completely an .049 world.
Got a nice response from the seller of the Wen Mac Challenger with a tracking number.
I'm wondering what's in the opened package with the red contents.

As expected, fuel can insert and Cox glow plug clip. The box is toast, oil soaked mess, I will probably toss it, but me........... Have no idea about the bracket.
Engines. Both free with compression and in good condition. Will clean them up and may run the slit cylinder, it's been a while. Slotted screened .020. I don't know. I don't understand the need for it, I was never burned by one and I was seldom careful about that. Law suits?
Got to remove the overspray, Easy Off oven cleaner works well. Wondering if I had attachment screws then I noticed this;
Conscientious seller. I like that.

Re: Sometimes opportunity just presents itself
Wen Mac challenger held a surprise, built in fuel tank had no top. Had to improvise. Postage stamp piece of plastic a couple of aerosol can straws, and fuel tubing. Yellow vent, red with larger diameter opening for fuel. Force fit for all three, fuel tubing lays on the bottom with the pickup to the outside of the circle. Fuel/vent tubes backed up with Testors red tube.
Waiting for the cement to dry before hooking up the fuel line. Then cut to length the vent/fuel tubes.

WOW! That looks great! You sure know how to bring out the best of those old castor coated models and return them to glossy sleek models. Thanks for the inspiration!
