Re: Dakota Done
Well, that didnt take long, I know a guy that owns most of the land around here (cattle ranch), he said his family donated that land to State Parks years ago. Lots of regs for flying drones in state parks but not finding anything for RC/free flight planes.

Re: Dakota Done
Ideally you would ask the park ranger if there is one...but chances are he only knows about the drone BS and will universally say NO out of ignorance
In this case the do first ask permission/forgiveness later, is usually safe as there are NO State or Federal laws prohibiting Free flight ( think kids gliders) on Public lands unless so posted.

Re: Dakota Done
Yea Fred, I was thinking of asking a Ranger, there is a station right here in town. Im not a law breaker type but as you mentioned I dont think they will reply with "yea man go ahead", I assume they are ignorant of the regulations. I will have to sleep on this.
Thanks Chase, always nice to here compliments on a build!

Re: Dakota Done
If you do ask, don't mention IC engine unless he/she asks , and don't lie that is federal offense
Hard asses will say no for noise reasons or well deserved fear of fires

Re: Dakota Done
2 of the 3 flying fields I use are in the state parks. In order to fly there, we have to lease the field. This requires maintaining the field and also securing the field from bystanders, fences, safety barriers and signage. There's to be no flights that are non controlled. Therefore, rubber band powered flights and gliders as mentioned are OUT.

Re: Dakota Done
And if you think National or State parks are tough try Corps of Engineers parks
