Ebay Bee...
Think I did good? Minor rust, should not be a problem.
I think it is this engine -

Re: Ebay Bee...
I wonder what you do, tie it to your pinky or something? I guess you could tie it to your handle and leave it slack so you can reach up and grab it if you get scared. Or maybe it would be good for bomb dropping or carrier landing or balloon busting. I don't know the rules on those.

Well, alright then, now I know.
I sure do miss my old green Cox handle like the one in the picture. Mine broke in two in the middle of a flight, leaving me there holding the back half of the handle, helplessly watching my plane head for the concrete sidewalk/runway. I haven't been able to find one since that happened. Note to self: add "check for handle cracks" to preflight list.

This is a little like the old "U-Reely" handle, remember those? When I was young we all wanted one, then when I finally got one it was so unbalanced, heavy & clumsy you could hardly fly with it! But hey, you could really easily reel the lines in!
Incidently, have you seen how much either of these handles fetches now?

Got it. It needs some help. I sure wish my crock pot worked.
I'm convinced the owner was a noob.
It is nailed to the firewall with two nails! Miraculously, the ears are still intact.
Its got a left-hand prop on it, flipped backwards.
Slots one the prob stud are bent outward.
The snap starter was wound up too much, and is deformed.
At least he never tried to use any kind of tools on it. In the meantime, How am I supposed to pull it loose? If worst comes to worst, I have a Dremel tool.

If it was me, and the model it's in isn't worth much, I'd remove it complete with firewall and cut away from the back until I freed the nails, I certainly wouldn't be tempted to try to lever or pull it from the front, or instant broken mounting lugs!
Be doubly careful because if the loony drove those nails in with a hammer you may have cracks in the lugs already.

Unless he used a nail set. Not likely though..

I think that, by the sound of him, he'd have used the biggest hammer available!

Re: Ebay Bee...
UPDATES!!
This one isn't on a model. Just a small block of wood. (see eBay link)
One nail was in at an angle, so I gently applied pressure with a screwdriver. It came loose, so I pulled it the rest of the way out. Pulled the other nail out, but it the engine wouldn't budge. I carefully applied some pressure against the intake, and pushed harder and harder until POP it came off. The bright fellow had epoxied the poor thing to the firewall - coated the whole back plate, including the intake screen.
On the bright side, the glow head filament is in perfect working order. (pun intended )
I have it soaking in some penetrating oil to free the cylinder. Heat wouldn't do it. Copper reed is bent to heck.

Re: Ebay Bee...
Well, now that tha it actually looks respectable, what do you guys think it would pull on today's market? If I flew control line, I might keep it and rig something. But I don't.
Re: Ebay Bee...
I will be selling this engine on this Sunday, maybe on eBay. Let me know if you are interested.
