Re: Carl Goldberg Shoestring
The outer hole was probably used on the bellcrank. You can negate that by installing a longer horn on the elevator. Or close in the line spacing on the handle. Easy fix.
I am pretty sure Amazon delivers in Manitoba… or any online hobby shop for that matter. You should have more than one prop in your arsenal. Half dozen 10x6 and 10x5 will last you a while. I don’t like the Master Airscrews, but I guess try it. They will move the plane. 3.5oz to 4oz is what you are aiming for in tank size. If it fly’s too long then just short tank it to your liking.
Any tank you dig up will more than likely need to be opened up and inspected. You can also use sullivan plastic tanks. They work just fine if plumbed correctly.

Well, that was quick. Found my couple of tanks here. One was way too long, but the other as pictured here fit just perfectly! Now to see where to hook it up and I will shortly be off to the races! My assumption however though is that I will hook up to the 'odd' line in the center of the tank pointed down. I may try to carefully straighten it out though.

Re: Carl Goldberg Shoestring
The tank you want is a chicken hopper. That tank you show is probably the most responsible tank for crashing planes. That tank is called a profile tank and while it will work for roundy round stuff, when you put that on a plane and your fuel level is at the half way point overhead is when it decides to shut off. Those tanks will work when made into uniflow. The problem though is that it takes a little bit of work to do that and when trying to solder in close qtrs inside a tank it becomes very problematic.
That was probably a old K&B tank and if you shake it and hear tingly crap inside, throw it out.

Thank you Ken. As for use, as long as it will do roundy-rounds I will be just happy with it for now as I am not at anything other than that. Ok, maybe just the odd wingover, but were talking rarely, as I am not up to that yet.
