New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Guys I just picked up a Jr. Satan at a local swap.
It is a .15 sized CL kit and is totally complete in original box. I paid $20 for it.
Did I do ok? The guy didn't know what it was worth and neither did I so he said 25 and I said 20.
Whaddya think?

$20, That is a super price. The plane is a good flyer with a TeeDee or Medallion .15.Wish I could find a deal like that.

Thanks Kim! I got a bunch of stuff today and that $20 bill was the most I spent on any one thing. I was hoping I didn't make a mistake. I will probably head back tomorrow afternoon when everyone is itchy to sell!

Re: New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Yes, except it was Friday and Saturday!!! Crap I thought is was Sat/Sun..... Oh well, I went through everything twice. I was shameless, even diving under tables to look in boxes of stuff.
I had a good time and I got to spend some QT with the boy. There was a quarter scale Bipe there with a $1000 price tag on it. It sold and when the guy starting walking away with it my son yells out "Hey I was going to buy that!"
My son just turned 6 and is very quiet and shy so for him to say that was way out of character. As we headed back to our truck we walked by the buyer who was struggling to fit that beast into his mini van and my son says to me "it will never fit" I really had to hold my laughter in.
I guess he really wanted that plane! I also guess he didn't notice his dad haggling over every purchase and nickel and diming everyone either. Wonder where he planned on coming up with 1K?

He did! He walked up to the guy selling tootsie toy airplanes, said nothing and handed him 2 dollar bills. One of those toys was marked $2 and he had 3 planes in his hand. The old guy selling just smiled and told him to pick out one more for himself. That's my boy! He never said a word, except thank you, which I had to remind him to do.

Re: New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Decided to go through the kit last night. Good news/bad news...... I assumed it was complete and it is largely complete however........ It is missing the skid and part of the nose block.
No big deal right? Well I guess modelers were mens men back in the day as the plans are not full scale, actually they are 3/4 scale. Not a big deal except it is also missing the template to allow you to build new pieces.
That was the bad news, the good is it has double everything else! Two tails, elevators, ribs, control rods, decal sheets etc.
I have enough to build 2 planes minus the skid.
Now for the plea for help does anyone have an old Jr. Satan parts template? Like I said I have the plans just no template.
Help!!!! This thing is way cool and I want to build it actually I want to build both

Re: New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Ron, I have a full-size Jr Satan Plan if it's any use to you? Shows ribs etc full-size.
I can't post it here 'cause it's a .pdf file, and this board doesn't let me post those, if you want to PM me your email address I'll send it to you if you want it
Wilf

Re: New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Doubles because two pilots attach string and 36" of crepe paper streamer to each plane and fly combat together in the circle...great brother n brother /father n son / or neighbor boys/(girls) fun
Or as you said, two so you can train and crash one (not finished perfectly) so your 100 hour perfectly finished plane may survive first flight!

Re: New buy Jr. Satan (new development)
Here's a thought.....a shot in the dark at best. I wonder if the Jr. Satan could be converted to RC?
The tail booms would have to be extended to act more like vertical stabs. The wing is thick and wide, so plenty of room for a couple of small servos. Prob ailerons elevator kind of setup.....
Just a thought but it may be possible.
