Re: Killer bee port depth
I just put feelers in that bottom port and worked my way up to .043 was tight fit maybe .044. At TDC the SPI was about .015.
Most exhaust is moved out top port, at BDC the bottom port was open a few thousands at most.

That reminds me, Doug, I gotta get a set of
feelers that were common when distributors
had points. They were about 3/8" wide, and
came to a small, tapered, rounded, end. Thanks.

Re: Killer bee port depth
Yes, those are good. Mine are old as me and getting hard to read. For some reason I was always messing with points on my old Chevy V8s. One time I put the rotor back 180 degrees off, square peg in round hole thing. Put cap back on and cranked the biggest backfire out my glass packs I ever heard. Sounded like a bomb. LOL OOOPPPPSSS. I had glass packs with pipes the came out the sides in front of the rear tires. In those old engines you could turn the key off for a few seconds and when turned back on would backfire. Got many bridge fisherman and pedestrians that way. Was that wrong?

Surestart fly are total port opening Inc centre bar .100 with bernies mod
Ie removing centre bar & deepening port .131 giving spi of .030 with
Tightly clinched ballpoint however after abt 30 minutes running the ball joint
& big end have settled into pretty mutch there best running clearances
& all will now measure approx .026 .027 ideal for high speed work
Being approx 85 degrees good when you consider the frog 150r & half in
Hurrikan came from the factory sporting 80 degrees Spi
Thanks all
