A Capitol Fourth - Tonight

A Capitol Fourth - Tonight
8 PM Eastern, 7 PM Central on your local PBS station.
https://www.pbs.org/a-capitol-fourth/
I never miss it. Restrained last year due to Covid, often rained out but this year the weather is perfect and masks are history. Best fireworks in the Nation ending with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, cannon fire included.
Celebrate your country.

Thanks Bob. I found it here, so will be flipping back and forth between watching my movie. Currently watching The Tuskegee Airmen that just started 10 minutes ago.

Good movie Chancey, also a special about them on the American hero's channel some time ago.
Funny, I posted this on the model train forum too and of the two responders one was Canadian, the other poo pooed fireworks on TV. It's not about the fireworks - I responded.
I guess he didn't catch my last line. A moderator too.

Well, I watched it as well as the Macy's 4th Of July Spectacular. Both were very good. Will definately watch them again next year. Thanks again for the heads up.
And well, sorry but I have to say it. The fireworks were great too!

Happy July 4th!
I have no problem with the fireworks (apart from how uncomfortable it may make those burnt out by US wildfires feel), but what's the story behind Vanessa Williams' suit? Is that just the most horrible outfit you've ever seen? I mean, I'm no fashion expert and I'm a real outsider when it comes to US patriotic icons, but seriously, is that the best they had to offer?

Re: A Capitol Fourth - Tonight
About the most disappointing Capitol Fourth that I have ever seen, and I have been watching for years. Where is Bob Hope when you need him. Supposed to be about Independence Day and the Grand Old Flag. I saw little of that out side of the flag waving crowd watching the event. They didn't even shoot off the canons at the conclusion of the 1812 Overture. Wokie in the extreme even for PBS.
Every free country shares in our celebration, applies to them also. Canadians, we are two peas in a pod. We share the longest undefended border in the world.

Real wackos control the narrative these days. Disturbing opinions even coming from our Congress. Flying the flag is frowned upon by these wackos. JB doesn't care as long as he gets his pudding on Wednesdays.
