Cox RC model kit : Banana from Israel
Dear all, if I want to build this BANANA RC model from kit, what type of transmitter receiver and servos are required? Servos from Hobby King, USA, will they be compatble to this kit. RC tx/rx from Fly Sky, 6 channel, 2.4 ghz, can be used or not?

Standart size servos and any RC set can be used. Here is a review: http://www.tissanhaifa.co.il/magazines/RC-MODEL-WORLD-UK-09-2002-BANANA.pdf

Servos can be seen in a building thread: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2494808-Tissan-Haifa-Banana-2000/page2

Re: Cox RC model kit : Banana from Israel
I do use Turnigy IA6 radio and receivers for 1/2A models, they're the same as FS IA6. It requires a 2s LiPo regulated down to 5V.
For selecting servos I use a rule of thumb: take the total weight of the model in grams, double it, and that's how many g*cm of torque you need. For example, for a 250g AUW model I use servos with at least 500gcm torque (actually, cheap plastic 5g servos with 700gcm torque).
The article specifies standard servos, and maybe that would have been the preferred option when the article was published, almost 20 years ago, but they will be extremely overpowered and overweight.
