Unexpected generosity from 944_Jim
I have been away for a few months but was unexpectedly called back by a very pleasant surprise text from Jim of 944_Jim. Several months ago we had talked about a House of Balsa glider kit he had. Nothing much came of it at the time so with my short attention span I lost track of it. That is, until Jim texted me about the kit. He very generously offered me the kit for free. He wouldn't even let me pick up the shipping. This was incredibly kind. The kit recently and very quickly arrived in excellent condition. I have some pictures to share. I hope to begin construction in the next week or two. When I pick out components and get ready to start construction I will start sharing more pics. Here are some pics of this little gem of a glider.
Here it is beautifully packed with opening instructions to ensure I don't damage the kit when opening.
This bad boy was triple boxed.
Everything was complete and neatly packed.
Here it is all opened up. I can't wait to start putting this together.
Thank you again Jim. Your kindness and generosity were only surpassed by the opportunity to get to meet you, even if only via the phone.
Happy New Year!

Bob, the good will you passed along to me has come full circle. You kick started my hobby nearly ten years ago with gifts of my first Tee Dee, MP Jet, Big Mig engines... And the tachometer I still use now, bladder supplies and patient lessons on how to use all that stuff, more than I can remember now. I still use it, and I've been able to teach many others how to elevate their hobby knowledge and level of fun because of your help. There are others who showed me the ropes too, like Mark Boesen, Ken Cook, Ron Cribbs, the whole CEF gang(I'm leaving many more names out), it's what we do. That's why this site Rocks!fit90 wrote:I have been away for a few months but was unexpectedly called back by a very pleasant surprise text from Jim of 944_Jim. P.S. Wow, I just realized the two of us joined CEF within one day of each other. August 10th and 11th, 2011.

Well you know, I wouldn’t hang around if it were any different! This is a collection of like minded, pleasant, courteous, helpful and generous people who enjoy helping others enjoy our little slice of the hobby world. CHEERS

Rusty,
Happy New Year! I hope you and your wife are doing well! I can't believe it has been almost 8 & 1/2 years since we signed up here. Even though I have never met anyone in person I definitely feel a friendship with everyone here. Anything I have had the pleasure of giving to anyone here has been greatly eclipsed by all that I have gotten back by simply reading the forum posts, what a great group of guys. Everyone is a true gentleman, in the best sense of the word. It is so good to see your post! I hope you are on the up side of your health issues. I look forward to reading more about your flying and building stories. It is good to be back. I look forward to catching up on everything here.
